Think somebody in the athletic department has been reading the board lately?

I doubt that's it, but it sure is an eerie coincidence.

This is highly encouraging and welcome news. Although I am still rubbing my eyes to make sure this came from guhoyas.com .....

...and an email with the link from the Hoop Club to their membership just hit the inbox.
Baby steps... and patience is rewarded.
Big Dog: I'm told that people in McD and the University in general read this site quite frequently, which is one reason us moderators sometimes police behavior more than people might like (it keeps the admin from taking unnecessary heat as well as keeping the place liveable).

Think somebody in the athletic department has been reading the board lately? I had that exact same thought when I saw the email from the Hoop Club. Hey, maybe things are starting to turn around... As far as I'm concerned, even though people may quibble with some of the points, any information is welcome and its good to see them actually addressing some of the concerns expressed by fans and getting the info to the hoop club. If the official bball site actually has useful information on it, well, anything is possible now!

I was so impressed by their responsiveness to concerns raised on this board and their efforts to comunicate that I sent them an e-mail. I am still a little shocked -- could this be the beginning of Hoya Perestroika? (I know someone else on this board came up with that excellent term, but I can't remember who -- consider youself footnoted in spirit!)

this infomation was at the insistance and urging of certain members of the board of hoyas unlimited. we also urged that these facts be deciminated to the local and national media.

Why would the local and national media even care? We hired a coach and they reported it ... did I miss some conspiracy article on ESPN? is Wilbon lurking around the Hilltop looking for a deep-throat? or has there been some "real" reporting by the Washington Times? Besides a doubting thomas alumni or two, who in the media is concerned about our hiring process?

Doesn't even matter if the media doesn't care -- by sending it to the media, you're signaling some openness to them, which is a decent idea. Good job, Guhoyas.com.

Not yelling at reporters would actually do a better job ....

I don't think reporters mind being yelled at anywhere near not getting info. But I'm sure they're both going in the right direction.
