The Craig Esherick Era is officially closed.
Congratulations to John Thompson III, who has finally erased the disgusting stain on our program that Craig Esherick left--a stain every bit as foul and obscene as the stains on the NIT Banner that Craig so proudly hung in the urinal.
If these past two games have taught us anything, it's how dreadful a coach Craig Esherick really was. Anyone think we win the Duke game with Craig raising his fists on the sideline? Anyone think we win the Notre Dame game with Craig ranting and raving about, "I'll fly any BIG EAST ref here on my dime to see what's happening in the key"?
What these two wins have also exposed is how ludicrous some of the old arguments offered by the pro-Esherick politburo really were. I haven't heard anyone suggest that JT III can't take this team to high places because of our facilities. I haven't read any posts lamenting how the Sports Information Department is keeping the team from winning. Those arguments were propped up as crutches to assist Esherick, who, we all see now, has no business coaching a Division I team.
So, once again, thank you, JTIII, for saving our program from the clutches of Craig Esherick. What a blot on the escutcheon of this University.

I liked Ed a lot better when he had no opinions.

One might question whether his post should be even be qualified as opinion. I'd have to put it in the "fact" category at this point.

This can't be the real Ed Stimes. There were more words in that one post than all the other words he ever wrote on the old board combined.

Is this post fo' serious? Damn, if the era is over, then why aren't we talking about this year? RB, on the sports only board, at the height of the Esherick Wars, a poster came on the board named Ed Stimes and continually posted "I have no opinion on [X]", when, of course, everyone had violent opinions on everything. DFW has a longer history of Ed Stimes somewhere in his tradition segment, I think. Having Ed have an opinion...kinda pointless.

Craig Esherick is a Hoya, and always be a Hoya. He loved the program just as strong as we did. I hope everything is working out for him. He is a good man and an honorable man. He j ust wasn't cut out to be a head coach for GU. That's it. Why people on here hated him so I don't know. He didn't do anything to anybody. There is no need to slander him. He tried his best and his best wasn't good enough on the basketball court. Let's not forget, DJ Owens, Bowman, Ashanti Cook, Hibbert,Jeff Green, AND Egerson are guys HE recruited. He did leave us with something.

He didn't do anything to anybody. Erroneous! Erroneous! Erroneous on both counts! Esh offended me by (a) trying to look like the greatest thespian of our time, Dabney Coleman, and (b) by having the audaciousness to wear that moustache and not be an actor in adult films.
