Not surprising to me that Oduro has been harder to replace than Carter. Cooley & staff have to take full advantage of the gifts Sorber(hopefully JH)brings them..

Watching the highlights of the UConn-Dayton game, I saw in real time the whole other level that those 2 teams are playing on. The speed, energy on both ends, the picks and cutting and movement without the ball - really good. And Dayton beat UConn by 20. Nuts. We will improve -- then we need to add size, speed, and shooters.

Why do you mention size? That same Dayton team is a lot shorter than our team… in every position including the bench!!! They don’t even have a center!!!! It’s like some of you don’t even watch the games and think size is what we’re missing. Once again, in college basketball, size is not a difference maker, esp. at the guard positions. Against UCon, Dayton mainly used 6 players, with four others getting 7 minutes or less. Those main 6 were: a 6’7” senior F; a 6’8” 5-yr senior F; a 5’10” junior G; a 6’3” senior G; a 6’0” 4-yr junior G; and our well-traveled former BE foe 6’0” 5-yr senior Posh Alexander. As you can see, that team of “munchkins” is made up of upperclassmen. All are transfers, except 6’0” 4-yr junior Malachi Smith. The youngest will be 22 y.o. in January. Now, do you see a pattern for success in new-rules college basketball? Let me give you a hint: it’s not size!!!

We need shooters. Period. We have just as much raw talent and size as Dayton.

If we played Dayton, it would be men against boys because their youngest starter will be 22 y.o. in January.

So I give Overrated Kim English a pass on this one. KE couldn't make the tournament with Carter and Oduro. Missing Hopkins coming off an ACL on a worse roster isn't the issue. His same awful offense that had him middling at George Mason is.

Another L for PC, they’re terrible scoring near the rim…
This has been a terrible week for the conference unfortunately…

Just having decent athletes who can play some D is not enough--pretty much the MO of most BE teams. UCONN was different last few years as they had multiple great shooters and finishers.
