Freddie Brown accepted the induction plaque today before the Nats game (shown in photo with inductee Ryan Zimmerman). As near as I could tell, Freddie and I were the only two people at the ceremony/game who also were at the championship game in Seattle....  |

I received an invitation to the Georgetown 1984 Men's Basketball Championship Dinner on 8 November at the David & Gretchen Welch Court in the TAC.
$1,000 per individual ticket with $700 deductible.

Didn't want to create a separate thead so I'll put this here. Very nice event at the TAC tonight.
1984 NCAA Championship Dinner tonight. Freddy Brown and Craig Escherick attended. It was good to see Craig back. Freddy Brown gave heartfelt and honest remarks about his time at Georgetown and his relationship with John Thompson, Jr. Credited Georgetown and Thompson for taking a chance on a kid from the Bronx. Gene also gave remarks. Paul Tagliabue was also in attendance. Gene Smith, Reggie Williams, Billy Martin, Michael Graham and Victor Morris, and David Green (manager) from the team. They were presented with championship jackets. Sat at a table with Ed Spriggs.
Amb. David Welch and his wife Gretchen (also a retired FSO) honored for their contributions to Georgetown athletics ($4 million).
