Chloe was 7th in the 3000m too in 8:57.28 to earn a second All-American award of the meet!
Melissa was 11th 9:15.87. I *think* she was the top finisher out of athletes doubling back from the mile on the new tougher, accelerated meet schedule.
Great racing from all Hoyas this weekend! Congratulations to all of them, and looking forward to watching them in Outdoors!

Chloe runs a sub 15:00 for 7th in the 3,000, another AllAmerican performance. Melissa, despite just running the mile final, gutted out a 15:15 for 11th.

Hoya women finished with 9 points and tied for 23rd (with Providence) place in the team standings. Villanova in 48th (2.5 points) was the other Big East school to score.

Yes, Melissa was probably the top runner coming back from the mile an hour ago. The winner of the mile was a DNS, The 2nd place finisher in the mile was a second behind Melissa. And the 8th place finisher in the mile did not finish the 3000m.

Melissa was the first American All-American in the women's mile. First and second are from New Zealand and the third is from Kenya. Also, just three Americans in the mile, and Melissa waa the best.

Lee...buddy...I understand what you were going for, but no track on campus is a huge problem!

Lee...buddy...I understand what you were going for, but no track on campus is a huge problem! Agreed! What's it gonna take to get this done? It's been since mid-way through my undergrad. What did we buy those blue and grey bracelets for in 2004?!

I agree as well and this is an oft-discussed problem, but where exactly on campus is there enough room to build a competitive track facility?

The final indoor rankings:
Men: 21 GEORGETOWN 12.00 Big East NR
Women: 23 GEORGETOWN 9.00 Big East ^11
While UConn ran away with the Big East title the men did not score a single point nationally.
And the UConn women were blanked also.
So DFW, that is what the Hoyas strive for, and I guess that is what UConn goes for. Two teams in the top 25 in the nation for the Hoyas.
