Massive intel failure, both Israeli and US. 50th Anniversaey and no heightened alert in Israel? Complacency set in despite Netanyahu's tough talk? Did Hamas/Iran perceive Israeli weakness because of Netanyahu's efforts to weaken the Israeli justice system with some IDF reservists publicly stating they wouldn't serve if Netanyahu was successful in his efforts? There are also reports of North Korean weapons in Gaza and a failure to track the funding of the terror. I think the role of crytpo has to be looked at since the funding of this war evaded the regular banking systems, where intelligence (US or Israel) could track it. If crypto is proven to have been used then Congress should consider a ban on its usage and ownership.

Rafah border crossing opens to humanitarian aid Trucks carrying humanitarian aid passed through the Rafah crossing from Egypt toward Gaza on Saturday for the first time since the war began — a breakthrough that signaled much-needed aid was on its way to the besieged enclave. The official Hamas-controlled press agency in Gaza confirmed the first “limited convoy of basic needs” had moved through the crossing, but added that the supplies will not be enough “to change the humanitarian catastrophe” in Gaza. The first convoy is expected to include 20 trucks carrying medicines, medical supplies and canned food, the statement said. www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/10/21/israel-news-hamas-war-gaza-updates/

David Satterfield, the U.S. humanitarian envoy to the Middle East, said he expects “a continuous flow of assistance” for the Gaza Strip to begin Monday. Speaking on MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki” Sunday, Satterfield warned that if “Hamas interferes with, seizes or diverts this assistance, it will as a practical matter make it very difficult for this assistance to continue.”
Now, can Amb. Satterfield arrange for the entry of third-party nationals through Rafah into Egypt?

On the other hand, a crypto ban in the US might not have made a whole lot of difference.

The Palestinian Water Authority announced Saturday that a line bringing water into central Gaza from Israel has been turned back on.
It is the second water line to be restored in recent days. The first, which runs from Israel to southern Gaza, was turned back on 10 days ago, according to the authority. The third remains offline

David Satterfield, President Biden’s special envoy for Middle East humanitarian issues, sought to dispel the notion that the United States would support moving Palestinians in Gaza to Sinai or elsewhere in the region. “The Palestinian people of Gaza, their future must be in Gaza and not elsewhere,” he told reporters Sunday.

Rafah partially open. I've been to Rafah in order to access the IBL with Gaza to our east. Hamas eyeballed us the entirety of our approximate 10k route south bordering Kerem Shalom commercial border crossing.. If Satterfield can get foreign nationals safe passage to Egypt it will be quite a success. Injured Palestinians cross from Gaza to Egypt as foreign nationals wait to enter www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/11/01/israel-war-hamas-news-gaza-palestine/

Another proven model is the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) established to supervise the implementation of the security provisions of the 1979 Treaty of Peace between Egypt and Israel. As an independent multinational coalition, it’s a very compelling template for Ukraine. The situation was similar in that a Security Council resolution authorising the envisioned UN force was unachievable and led to an alternative design that began operations in 1982. After more than 40 years, the MFO has demonstrated remarkable resilience and commitment, especially in view of the complex dynamics in the region and the many forms of global turbulence over these past four decades. www.aspistrategist.org.au/sustaining-peace-in-ukraine-the-sinai-model/?fbclid=IwAR3rX-bWp-Io57aN62dS-RUMQvKfpFLecolWR-dYYTIUNhHlw9NrvCr4_dk

"One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results.” The immortal words of Milton Freidman as quoted by Ambassador Jean Kirkpatrick in her iconic article "Dictatorships and Double Standards" are once again being tragically revisited as the United States extends its waiver of sanctions of the Iranian regime that is the chief backer of Hammas. Providing $10 billion to the Iranian regime is not going to achieve peace or for that matter stability in the region and is a grave threat to Israel's security. I honestly believe that Biden, Sullivan et al think they are doing God's work with the Iranian policy of the last 29 months but the results become ever more tragic every day.
