There is a Youtube channel dedicated to Massachusetts basketball that shows highlights of a lot of his games. What I've noticed most is since he acts as the point guard he can really handle pressure but isnt a dynamic handler. His shot has unlimited range, he is a physical driver, and can get up and finishes strong. How tall is he? I've seen him listed at 6'4" and also 6'6". Split the difference and call him 6'5"? He looks 6'3 To 6'4 but it's impossible to tell on video. He is very solidly built. Dude got some tree trunks for legs.

I like how powerful he is. He seems to have a versatile skill set. He does a little bit of everything. I am not sure his handle is where it needs to be to play PG in the Big East but he can certainly contribute at ball handling. I like that he plays with toughness...and that his team won and the ball was in his hands down the stretch as it happened.

Really excited about this kid's impending arrival - with Sorber, has a great chance to be a fan favorite, especially among his fellow students.

When answering a question about Carter, Cooley noted his physical drives and then said "we don't have that physicality yet" he then said keep the concentration on yet.
Pretty sure he's referring to Mulready coming in next year since he's a very physical player

I like it when we hear directly from coaches and players. Here is a short interview with Mulready, he says he will report to the Hilltop on June 1. He seems like a good kid.
NOTE: If you want to post to Twitter links, you need to change any URLs with "x.com" into "twitter.com" or ProBoards doesn't show the tweet/X/whatever they are calling them now.

Seeing Mulready at Capital Classic was one of the four things I was deeply looking forward to. He was listed at 6'6", but is still 6'4" and standing next to players and a coach I know are 6'4" sorted that out. Mulready showed the rust of not playing a lot this year, due to injury. But, he reminded me of a Sidwell guard from a couple years ago, who was also fullback for them on the football team, but was 6'1". Mulready has that same powerful build and game with a purpose. Mulready's outside shooting was a bit inconsistent, but mid range and at the rim play was solid. He connected really well with Sorber on a few plays passing and receiving. His court vision is really good and when running point his head was up and moved to change the floor to create advantages for his teammates, but with his eyes looking for teammates all the time. He defended well with his feet, was able to disrupt passes a few times while on his man, and covered shooters well mid-range.
There was a lot of defense played on both sides today, which was good to see. As the post game interview shows, Mulready is looking forward to getting back in playing shape and this trip learned what Cooley is looking for from players and how they will play.

Saw the boxscore. For those who watched - 7 TOs? How many of the bad variety?

Saw the boxscore. For those who watched - 7 TOs? How many of the bad variety? Three or four were passes to players who stopped moving or looked away. Mulready looked rusty as didn't play a lot this year due to injury (one or two were to the 7'7" big who did't catch passes well). One or two were picks from a player jumping the passing lane. I think the last may have been a passing the ball straight out of bounds. I think his picks were mostly by Paul VI guard, Ben Hammond. None were dribbling the ball off his own foot, so there is that improvement.
