Some complain, but not all. There are those that know he is correct, but they players don't listen. I'd say give better instruction than move, but if the players aren't listening to move there is little hope beyond that. Ewing gives instruction, but never makes sure players do what he is asking (like use the bench) so why would players listen. Yeah, the problem is also that the players don't seem to know where to move and how to create proper spacing for a good shot. They stand and watch whoever's turn it is. With Primo out and Heath starting the play, or Anglin that ins't the case. Nobody on the team expects Primo to pass, so why move.

It’s puzzling that we’re 20+ games into the season and there are offensive possessions where it looks like players still don’t know where they are supposed to be. Amazing. There are decent individual 1-on-1 defenders on this team, but whatever team defense we play is non-existent. We help when we don’t need to, don’t help when we should, can’t rebound because we’re out of position. Just a mess on both ends of the floor.

Ewing says “we have been in every game it’s just one of those years.” Like last year, I guess. The delusion is disgusting. Staggeringly disgusting. I think he's worse as a coach than he was great as a player. He was a top-15 all time college player, but I cannot name one coach who is/was worse in D1 history...particularly not relative to personnel. Last season's team was dreadful, but the rest of his teams have all had plenty of talent to be competitive in the BE. But at least the players love him, our APR is soaring and he's not costing us a fortune.... I see what you did there….And agree.

We help when we don’t need to, don’t help when we should, can’t rebound because we’re out of position. Just a mess on both ends of the floor. The players not knowing where they should be really bugs me. Both Anglin and Mutomobo much of the season were calling out where players should be from the bench, and on rare occasions when they are in, they are placing teammates. So good to see. But that has stopped. The guy who sits in the PG slot doesn't know where anybody is supposed to be and call not one play. The coaches love the players who have no clue what they are doing. Defense is problematic much of the time as there are three starters who don't need help on defense. The two that require help cause the whole thing to fall apart. Unsurprisingly it the players who are lost on offense with plays and understanding the team game (or just basketball in general) are the ones lost on defense. The team is horribly unbalanced with ball IQ in the starting line-up and they get most of the minutes. Watching other good teams that are good they may have a high scorer, who doesn't get the game and can't defend and they come off the bench. Their offenses and defenses are far more balanced and they defend really well and every player can score and is invested in the game.

These players have no clue defensively, and it speaks to Ewings inability to properly teach his philosophy...whatever it may be.

Primo got run through a double screen and completely lost Bynum. Lost where Bynum was headed.

Again…Wahab to help for no good reason, doesn’t box out, gives up the offensive rebound.

Again…Wahab to help for no good reason, doesn’t box out, gives up the offensive rebound. Watching Wahab try and help, when he always requires help, makes an utter mess of things. This often causes 3 Hoyas to be in poor position to defend. Now add in Primo and his needing help or losing his many, it is an utter disaster. It is amazing how much better the Hoyas are with Wahab out and Primo out, on the defensive end. But, also on the offensive end. Neither is a dire liability during timeouts (that we know of).

Providence bigs are showing awareness as to how to rotate and defend.

Primo stuck on a mismatch and Bradley comes to help. Primo's role is to roll off and cover the wing Bradley was keeping and eye on. Pass the the wing for a wide open easy slam.
No awareness nor basic BB IQ. Poor coaching keeps a player like that in the game.
