This is a classy move and because of this whether he plays or not, he is one of my favorites. Reminds me of Trey - the first one off the bench to encourage his teammates with no significant run until his senior year. Go Ryan.

The evening lines from different sites seem to have coalesced at 4, with fan duel rather oddly moving from 3.5 to 5.5 over 12 hours (maybe too many sharps saw only giving 3.5 as too much of an opportunity and thus went heavy on DePaul).

Hoyas with last chance for a BE win in this entire calendar year.
And there are those who think this Coach and staff and the entire organization don’t need to go?
What will it take to cut the Thompson umbilical cord for those people?

Big game for the Hoyas. I want to see a ton of intensity, a sustained effort, and a win.
GO HOYAS

Will the team be prepared to face DePaul?
From the front page:
It may still be 1985 inside the Georgetown basketball office, but the mileposts of the decline of men's basketball at the University runs through DePaul: a 60-56 loss in the first round of the 2014 Big East tournament, a stunning 101-69 loss in 2019 that cost Patrick Ewing an at-large NCAA berth and a 20-win season, and last year's sweep of the Hoyas that continues a year long run of futility and institutional denial.
DePaul has won three of the last four meetings versus Georgetown at Wintrust Arena, where an 8:00 start time will bring 1900 or so to the Near South Side to see two teams with the two lowest combined records in the conference since 2013, each entering the game below .500 with a three game losing streak between them. Can Georgetown win? Sure. Will they? Well, we've seen this story before.

I’ll be there and rooting for the utter humiliation that finally ends this disaster.

Stoppable force vs. movable object Should wear a Georgetown shirt. DePaul fans, those that are left, are still somewhat optimistic that Stubblefield can be successful.

I agree with all of this. Because of work being horrible and then the holiday, I've largely been checked out of HoyaTalk for the last week, but Ryan really does seem to have potential and has played fine (sometimes well) in the few chances he has gotten. I'm sure it's discussed in the Connecticut thread, which I have yet to catch up on, but playing Wilson in lieu of Mutombo in that game was just bewildering. Barring the announcement that Ryan is transferring, injured or not playing for an undisclosed reason, his absence on the court is inexcusable. He played pretty darn well last season. Yes, he's a little slow -- probably still growing into his body -- but he has good hands, has some offense and can rebound and block shots ... he's 7 feet tall and a Mutombo! It's crazy that Wilson got into the game. Crazy. I take it that Wilson made a sacrifice to the team by being a team manager until the Dante situation resolved itself. I think giving Wilson a couple minutes of run is was a small act of appreciation for that. This was not a meaningful amount of minutes or a clear sign that he’s higher on the depth chart as Ryan to be calling it out as crazy

Does winning tonight make one iota of difference? This is a game between 9th & 10th place teams. A win is not going to create momentum or improve our stature.
