If I were Cooley, I would let a big part of the narrative be about the money...

I can't believe this...there goes another good guy down the drain...he was only at FDU for one season...he promised to build a family...what about the poor recruits that committed to him...his supposed dedication to the university...what a traitor... Are you crazy? Guy's been coaching D2 for how many years? Not sure what FDU was paying him but he's likely moving his family into an entirely different tax bracket at Iona -- even if it's in the mere mid-to-high six figures. It's not like he's 25 years old.

To be fair Pitino also paid for an abortion and was accused of rape at Louisville Oh, but he gets wins man! I am sick of the not so Casual hyping of and fawning over this dirt bag. You're in the minority Jack.

You're in the minority Jack. So you think the university should hire a guy who gets girls for HS kids? Give me and Rick Pitino a break. Girls? Is that what you call women? Kids? How many recruits and players were under 18? Forgive me if I don't remember correctly, but I believe the NCAA found no evidence that Pitino knew anything and in fact he was penalized for not properly supervising ... but go on right ahead and make something sound 100X worse than it actually is. This is teh place for that.

Depending on who Provy hires, we could have a conference where up to 9 out of 11 coaches have made the sweet 16 or better. Idk about other conferences but that has to be very high if not the highest among conferences. Even if they just hire English 8/11 is still a lot I think

Will our conference go double Hurley? The more storylines the better. We are nearing a TV contract year, bring it on. PC-UConn and PC-Georgetown would be nice games for FOX.

Since I know you’re just being snarky I definitely won’t bother pointing out that Antonio Blakeny at least was 17 and the girl he was set up with was the underage daughter of the Madam who wrote the book on the “services” she and her kid provided. And I certainly won’t direct your attention to articles like this, in which Pitino claims banging (or raping - he says poTAYto, she says poTAHto) girls was really just his way of getting over 9/11. syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/236134-rick-pitino-how-is-911-related-to-banging-some-skank-in-a-restaurant.amp.htmlI mean really, if I went in that direction someone would really need a break …

I wonder how much money Georgetown wasted on that company to help with the HC search?

Going with the "it's not you, it's me" narrative brings more questions & anger in my opinion It almost certainly brings more questions and anger from Providence fans, but Hoya fans should be excited that the money was a relatively minor part of the move.

Three things that Brandon Bowman brought to Georgetown.
1.) An epic nationally-televised destruction of Duke that signaled the rebirth of Hoya hoops. 2.) The throw dribble. 3.) Ed Cooley

I wonder how much money Georgetown wasted on that company to help with the HC search? To paraphrase Everett Dirksen: "A [m]illion here, a [m]illion there, pretty soon you're talking about real money." (In the original quote it was "billion"). No matter how much $$ Jack D and the BoD may have thrown at Turnkey ZRG, at the end of the day it is likely chump change compared to the pay off of Ewing's remaining contract and Cooley's current salary. Turnkey ZRG's website does identify Georgetown as a recent client. www.turnkeyzrg.com/intercollegiate-athletics

We had that person for six years, no one minded until he became a historic loser and we paid him $31m.

My favorite reference involving him, from either Street and Smith’s pre season issue or maybe Blue Ribbon (back when it was a thing) circa 1980. Illinois looked to be relevant again for the first time in a while, and the line was “Illinois hasn’t had a really competitive team since the days Everett Dirksen was going one on one with the New Frontier.”

Jeff Goodman laying down his life on the Twitters in the name of Georgetown Basketball is not something I think I'd ever see.
