Looking forward to seeing Birdman and maybe others at the Paul Short XC meet in less than 2 weeks on Friday, September 30th. Both the men's and women's teams are running and while it is a ways away I'm giving people a heads up that we'll be having a tent this year for family, friends and alumni to cheer on the Hoyas in PA - our best proxy for a "Home" XC meet. If you plan to join us and you are able to cart items to the course, please sign up to bring a snack or beverage. PARENT / ALUMNI / ATHLETE Snack / Beverage Sign Up: www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4EA4AC2DA4F8C61-paul1(FYI, our tent is about a ¼ mile from the parking lot across a lawn. So please plan accordingly.) Thank you! We hope to have lots of family, friends and alumni gathered to support the Hoyas!

In the national rankings the men moved up 6 places to 17th. That is one place ahead of Nova and three places ahead of Syracuse.
North Carolina made the biggest jump into the top-15 in Week 2, as it climbed four spots from No. 17 to No. 13 following a winning effort at the Coaching Tree Invitational. The Tar Heels held off a strong charge from NAU and now-No. 17 Georgetown (up six spots) in Bloomington, Indiana. North Carolina amassed 53 points, five fewer than the Hoyas and seven fewer than the Lumberjacks. The Tar Heels put three runners in the top-10, led by Will Coogan in fifth place.
The women move up one spot to 18th. In the Big East Providence is three places ahead of the Hoyas.
North Carolina continues to creep closer to the top-10 after climbing two spots to No. 11. The Tarheels won the Coaching Tree Invitational and topped now-No. 18 Georgetown, 37-53. Brynn Brown captured the individual title in 20:18.6 to lead UNC and earned M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week honors for her efforts.

Unfortunately, I'll be in Chicago for work and unable to make it to Lehigh. Bummer.
Have fun, sheasdad and everyone in attendance. Good luck to the teams and Go Hoyas!

Birdman you will be missed. But I'll give you a little more advance notice for the next event: The Big East XC Champs Saturday October 29th in Attleboro MA.
We'll have our tent for friends/family/alumni back. Attleboro is about ten miles north of host Providence and thirty miles south of Boston.

Three of the Hoya women beat Brynn Brown, UNC's first runner and winner of the Coach's Tree race. Also, the Hoyas were 1,2,3 among American born runners (as a Kenyan and Dutch woman were 1,2).

The surprise was the Villanova men with four runners in the top 10. They will be tough at the Big East meet. I see them moving to #1 in the region.
