Lampkin is not a great player, but he is a good role player that I could envision in a system like Cooleys. He can move, is really agile for his size. Sets picks relentlessly. Not afraid to run the floor or handle the ball. Can play good defense and get a couple duck in layups per game.
I think Lampkin would be a great fit. I dont believe Wahab is a good fit.

Couldn’t he have entered the portal and gone into the draft too? That he’s not doing that tells me he’s actually more likely to come back, not less likely. People are way too hard on Wahab. I understand people don’t like that he left, but it’s hard to blame anybody for leaving under Ewing. Yes, given the numbers, it is impossible to blame anyone for leaving under Ewing, but Qudus's transfer was strange, given his increase in usage, his overall improvement, and the likelihood of a feature role as a junior. Hard to pin Wahab screwing himself on Ewing.

Highly unusual for someone to leave under those circumstances and to go across the street to ruin himself.

It's not like he's a world beater, but having him as an option on the low block might well have freed space for Dante and Aminu and Don on the wings... I dunno.

People are way too hard on Wahab. I understand people don’t like that he left, but it’s hard to blame anybody for leaving under Ewing. You’ve trashed Qs game for years. Not sure why all of a sudden you are desperate to get him back. Would you rather have Mutombo or Q? Your statement that I have "trashed Qs game for years" is nonsense. Go back and find those posts, they don't exist. I think you are confusing my general statements about big men and old-style of playing, with Wahab personally. So, no, this is wrong. I also know I was happy he came back last year, at the same time many people were not happy because he had left. To answer your other question, I would rather have Mutombo than Wahab because I think Mutombo will stay two more years and has potential that is untapped. With Wahab, I think he can get better, but we largely know what we've got. I agree it's odd that he left after the BET, but he came back. Given that Ewing couldn't retain anybody, you would think his return would have made people like you (who supported Ewing to the end) happy.

The best thing for the program is for Wahab to graduate (hurray APR) and then grad-transfer/go pro to open a roster slot for Cooley to use. I wouldn’t hate having him back, but he doesn’t seem likely to be the centerpiece of what Cooley wants to do.

I want Cooley to recruit his own players. Addition by subtraction.

He's in the portal. He is not likely coming back. I was surprised with the earlier announcements that he was exploring the NBA while retaining his eligibility - but not entering the portal. SO that is now 8 players in the portal. Plus Mozone is done. So 9 players likely gone from last year's team. That is probably for the best on many levels.

It has been a long, strange road for Q's college basketball career. Hopefully he finally finds a place that fits for him.

Wishing the young man an outstanding final year of college basketball. He’s been through a lot and was used by some adults who didn’t always have his best interests in mind. Personally I’m rooting for him in whatever he does.

Doesn’t matter who’s feet he gets...I don’t believe he has the will or heart to be anything more than what he already is.
Just throwing this back out there. People said I was wrong, doesn’t appear I was.

Just throwing this back out there. People said I was wrong, doesn’t appear I was. There's a big difference between recognizing a guy who struggled to elevate his game and stating he doesn't have the "heart or will to be anything more than what he already is." Unless you know him, then you're assuming a whole of of things here. Unlike many others, I thought getting Wahab back was a good thing, and I still do. It may not have made a big difference in results, but he was often (and arguably, for the year) the best player on the floor in what was overall an awful season. I hope he gets a degree from one of the three institutions he will have attended, and wish him the best.

Q will not be able to play the Brandon Johns role for Mike Rhoades at Penn State.
