"NC State just wrapped up its transfer portal haul and is now zeroing in on its final targets for the 2024 recruiting class to go along with Paul McNeil. But the State coaching staff has also been keeping a close eye on several standout targets in the 2025 class and Preston Copeland is an early name to know. The 6-foot-8 forward has impressed on both the Adidas 3SSB circuit and non-live period events with the Garner Road 16U program and made an early name for himself. Copeland also recently took an unofficial visit to NC State back on April 15 to tour campus and said he came away impressed. "I really enjoyed my visit to NC State, especially being so close to home," Copeland said. "They've got a lot of interest in me and said they're going to watch me a lot this summer. It was really nice meeting all the coaches and staff and getting to know them on a more personal level." Copeland's lead recruiter with the Wolfpack is Levi Watkins, who has already watched him play multiple times and has a relationship with Copeland's father, Ike, from their playing days. Ike was also former teammates with current NC State assistant Kareem Richardson during the 1992-93 season at ECU -- the last Pirates team to make an NCAA Tournament appearance. "We've all known each other for a long, long time," Ike said of Watkins and Richardson. "I've known [Kevin] Keatts since way back too, so I've got great relationships with that entire staff. They all showed Preston love and made him feel welcome at NC State. ... Levi's a great dude. He used to foul like crazy though [laughs] that's one thing I remember most about him." 247sports.com/college/north-carolina-state/article/preston-copeland-basketball-recruiting-nc-state-interest-2025-fo-210279343/"Indiana has offered class of 2025 forward Preston Copeland. The North Carolina product announced the offer on his Twitter page on Sunday evening. He was in Indiana over the weekend for the Crossroads Elite camp... There’s a link to the Copeland family and the IU staff. Isaac transferred after three years at Georgetown to attend Nebraska, where he played for IU assistant coach Kenya Hunter, who was an assistant at both of those programs... Indiana joins Georgetown and Nebraska as the high major programs that have offered Copeland to this point. He also got an offer from Xavier on Monday." www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-hoosiers-offer-2025-forward-preston-copeland/

"Marcus Jackson - 6'8", 250 pound '25 F/C, Edmonsdon (MD) - Johnson is a unique player, given his length, height and size, all coupled with good mobility and a strong competitive nature. You can tell Marcus is still defining his game. "He just started playing basketball, probably a couple of years ago" shared Durant, who values the defensive impact of Johnson, not only strapping up against his man, but providing rim protection. Georgetown and Illinois have both offered this evolving performer. Many, many more are coming." alabama.rivals.com/news/travel-team-tour-team-thrill-16u "Unfortunately, the weekend of Marcus Jackson was cut short due to an injury. However, prior to getting hurt the 6-foot-8 power forward from Baltimore and the class of 2025 was starting to raise some eyebrows. Jackson is an elite level athlete who sprints the floor and looks like he’s playing on a trampoline around the rim. He recently picked up offers from Georgetown and Illinois and is a guy that we’ll look forward to seeing more of later on this summer." 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/article/under-armour-future-60-five-star-bryson-tiller-iowa-state-bound--211483658/

Did you get lost looking for the Maryland message board? Do you think we're not recruiting Stevens out of Bullis? We're recruiting his teammates Caden Diggs and Eric Reibe, it's pretty clear Coach Cooley & Co. are actively looking at Bullis players. Feel free to ignore if you don't think it's relevant, but Cooley is on record saying he's prioritizing DMV recruiting.

Sounds like our coaching staff is recruiting players from the UA circuit, imagine that... "Few traveling teams regardless of shoe affiliation have two class of 2025 point guards like Tyler Jackson on the 16s and Chance Mallory on the 17s. Rivals.com ranks the 6-foot-2, 160-pound Jackson as the No. 18 overall player in the country and he showed why with great quickness, ability to create and a knack for putting defenders on their heels. He finished with 22 points in the 58-45 win over We R1 16s. Jackson is a hot recruiting name with colleges, and he’ll now get to know the new Georgetown staff. “Syracuse just offered me and Alabama just offered,” said Jackson, 17. “I’m waiting for that Kentucky offer. I haven’t heard from Georgetown yet. I went to Maryland and went with [UMD signee] Jahnathan Lamothe [of Saint Frances], who is going there.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/zembal-s-takeaways-sunday-at-the-under-armour-association"Five 2025 four-star prospects coaches will be eager to reach out to June 15... Jackson has been one of the toughest defensive assignments in the Nike EYBL E16 all spring, evident of his production. The 6-foot-2 point guard is averaging 30 points, 5.3 rebounds and two assists a game. In the fourth and final session of the EYBL last week, Jackson shot 50% from the 3-point line. His greatest asset is his ability to keep the defense off balance as a lethal scorer and playmaker at all three levels. Virginia Tech, Cal, Penn State, Houston, Syracuse and Alabama, among many others, will likely be in a mad dash to see who sends the first text." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/2025-four-star-prospects-coaches-will-be-eager-to-reach-out-to-june-15

"Nate Ament is a 6-foot-7 wing from Woodbridge (VA.) who plays for DC Premier and Colgan High School. COLLEGE ATTENTION Though he's only beginning his sophomore year, Ament already has offers from George Mason, NJIT, and Bryant. He's also been attracting interest from Maryland, Georgetown, Delaware, Iowa, Marquette, UVA, and Rhode Island. He has also taken unofficial visits to Maryland, and UVA. WHY HE HAS OUR ATTENTION Ament made it onto our radar through his play at this years Pangos All East Frosh/Soph camp. Ament has good length, versatility, shooting and finishing that stood out throughout the camp. Ament has high upside and someone to monitor in the sophomore class." 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Basketball-recruiting-Nate-Ament-Bryant-Maryland-UVA-Iowa--197086342/"Four-star SF Nate Ament Nate Ament has a long and fluid frame; there is real upside in his game and skill set. At 6-foot-8, he has wing skills, bringing the ball up the floor under pressure and knocking down threes in the half-court. Ament is a sophomore at Manassas (VA) Colgan High. He is very thin and will need to add weight, but the fluidity is interesting. He has the legit size. In one three-play sequence, Ament grabbed a traffic rebound, waved everyone up the floor, and initiated the offense. In that same play, he caught the ball as it worked back around to him and knocked down a three. Next possession, he pinned a blocked shot on the backboard and then ran the floor and finished above the rim. He is currently No. 46 in the 2025 On3 75." www.on3.com/news/rob-dockery-nate-ament-headline-top-performers-at-cbg-grassroots-tip-off/"Nate Ament is the No. 46 player in the 2025 On3 75. The 6-foot-7 wing from Manassas (VA) Colgan High has become a hot name in recruiting. Just after midnight, on June 15, the first day college coaches are able to contact rising junior players directly, Virginia Tech was the first school to call. Soon thereafter, Florida State, LSU, SMU, Texas, Illinois, Penn State, and others followed suit... “Maryland, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest are my most recent offers,” Ament said. Maryland: “I’ve been to a couple of practices; they go hard at practice. They got a couple of big guys there. They play with a lot of pick and roll. With my ability to post up and to shoot, I feel like I could play very freely over there.” Virginia Tech: “I haven’t been on their campus yet. But they like my versatility, that I can shoot the ball or handle it. They like that I can do anything they need me to do.” Creighton and Wake Forest both offered me, but we haven’t been hearing from either of them as much as the other schools since the offers,” Ament said. “Indiana and Virginia are a couple of other schools who have gotten in contact with us recently and started recruiting me.” www.on3.com/news/nate-ament-is-seeing-his-recruitment-pick-up-talks-virginia-tech-maryland-and-more/
