Ho hum. We know who regurgitates Fox Propaganda for us here . . . . Fox pundits rehash attacks on ‘radical and incompetent’ Kamala Harris Critics on the right have long danced around the topic of Harris’s race by imputing her rise to affirmative action or “DEI,” the acronym for the diversity, equity and inclusion programs that have drawn fire from conservatives. Watters — who last month theorized that Democratic insiders planned to have Harris take over during a second Biden term for what he called “a DEI presidency” — predicted that any Democrat who challenges her for the nomination “is going to trigger an identity politics bloodbath.” His guest, investor Jason Calacanis, warned that “the DEI candidate concept just is not going to work.” There’s a history of Fox-affiliated pundits facing backlash for making inappropriate comments about Harris, particularly about her relationship with former San Francisco mayor Willie Brown in the 1990s. Pundit Tomi Lahren apologized in 2019 for “a wrong choice of words” after tweeting, “Kamala did you fight for ideals or did you sleep your way to the top with Willie Brown?” Two years later, conservative radio host Jesse Kelly used a crass sexual reference on then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s show to describe how Harris launched her career in politics. www.washingtonpost.com/style/media/2024/07/22/kamala-harris-fox-news-pundit-attacks/

Harris may not win in November, but I love seeing how the little racist misogynists at Fox are crapping their pants right now. They have no idea how to message anything, and all their attempts have been either incredibly dumb or incredibly offensive. They were so smug just two weeks ago, and now they are floundering. They keep insisting that the race hasn’t fundamentally changed, but it has. The desperate depression and resignation in Democrats from before Biden withdrew has been replaced by hope and enthusiasm. I think the sycophants at Fox understate this at their own peril; I hope they continue to do so.

This is just a trap. Now he can say he was willing to debate Harris and she refuses if she chooses not to engage in this debate. Maybe Harris’s play here is to tie this into the larger framework of Republican men forcing women to do things on the men’s terms without any input from the affected women, culminating in the attitude that men decide what’s best for women in all aspects, including healthcare decisions. She could also easily say that she would prefer not to debate Trump on a network that settled a suit for three quarters of a billion dollars for pushing election lies in effort to help Trump; these lies ultimately resulted in an insurrection attempt to undermine a free a fair election. I think there are some opportunities to flip this obvious trap on its head without being forced to debate on a network that in no way offers its viewers any sort of objective reality. There really is no benefit to agreeing to a debate on a network that is unabashedly in the bag for Trump, one that doesn’t even try to pretend it can offer a disinterested hand in the proceedings.
