Certainly a big commitment for North Carolina, but I think it is a 50/50 chance that Jackson ever plays in college. He certainly seems like a guy who might consider one of the "semi" professional options if the money was right for him.

Probably not with preparation for pro leagues. At least not in one year.

June 15, 2021 - Jackson tells Inside Carolina he and his father cried during and after the call from Hubert Davis offering him a scholarship. He admits to thinking about making an on-the-spot verbal commitment. But holds off. June 29, 2021 - Jackson, his parents, sister, and grandparents take an unofficial visit to UNC. For five hours, they meet with the UNC staff and tour the campus. Jackson and his father say they are blown away during the visit. Truthfully, this is the first time Inside Carolina was ready for a potential commitment by Jackson. Sources close to him told Inside Carolina it could happen, but there weren't guarantees. Sept. 9, 2021 - On the first morning of the Fall evaluation period, three UNC coaches show up for Ridge View's early-morning workout. It's the first of UNC's seven off-campus visits with Jackson. Source: "Heard that made a big impression. UNC is gonna be tough to beat." Oct. 15, 2021 - Jackson heads to Chapel Hill for his UNC official visit. It's his first official trip. "Their message to him was that they don't want him, they need him," Gregory Jackson Sr., Jackson's father, told Inside Carolina following the visit. Oct. 16, 2021 - Source: "UNC still leads, but I think he's going to wait a bit. (The family) wants to be respectful to everyone that's recruited him. So they are going to take a few visits." Oct. 29, 2021 - The entire UNC staff visits Jackson at Ridge View. It's a purposeful move by Davis and his assistants to show their words from the official visit are truthful. Source: "(The UNC staff was) told they have nothing to worry about." Nov. 19, 2021 - Jackson takes an official visit to Georgetown.
He and his family have a good relationship with Hoyas head coach Patrick Ewing. But sources close to Jackson told Inside Carolina, after returning the visit, that the family would be in attendance for UNC's game against Michigan in Chapel Hill on Dec. 1. The source viewed Georgetown as a trip of respect, but not one in which Jackson could be lured to the nation's capital. 247sports.com/college/north-carolina/Article/Inside-UNC-Basketball-Commitment-GG-Jackson-185724378/

If they made the universities pay for GG's recruiting trips (in which he had zero chance of actually going there), then that is actually disrespectful!

So are we playing South Carolina again this year? They demolished us last year, time for payback.
