Thank you for posting. I wish some of these Georgetown students would read this poem. I watched the entire video (4:12 seconds of my life I'll never get back) and have some observations: 1) the "journalist" who interviewed these individuals was not even on Georgetown's campus - it appears that some of the interviews were done in Georgetown (M Street); 2) none of the individuals interviewed identified themselves as "Georgetown students", nor did the "journalist" ever ask where the interviewees attended school, or that they were even college students anywhere. I have also read some "news" articles and I cannot locate one that identifies any of the interviewees as being Georgetown students. The logical inference is that they are not Georgetown students. Why one would so conclude is beyond reason. ADM McRaven as a journalism major and the former Chancellor of the University of Texas System would likely give this "journalist" an "F". There is stupidity rampant in America. See the majority of the Republican Party. None of our stalwart HoyaTalk Republicans seem to be able to respond to a simple question: "Why do you continue to identify with a Republican Party which, as currently constituted, is no longer reality based?" As a disabled non-White veteran, I find the Republican Party, led by a five-time draft dodger who has no respect for veterans, abhorrent. It is a cult of personality to a sociopath. And for those who appreciated ADM McRaven's poem, perhaps you may also appreciate his past writings as well: Former CIA director John Brennan, whose security clearance you revoked on Wednesday, is one of the finest public servants I have ever known. Few Americans have done more to protect this country than John. He is a man of unparalleled integrity, whose honesty and character have never been in question, except by those who don’t know him. Therefore, I would consider it an honor if you would revoke my security clearance as well, so I can add my name to the list of men and women who have spoken up against your presidency. Through your actions, you have embarrassed us in the eyes of our children, humiliated us on the world stage and, worst of all, divided us as a nation. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/revoke-my-security-clearance-too-mr-president/2018/08/16/8b149b02-a178-11e8-93e3-24d1703d2a7a_story.htmlAnd Campus Reform has hired White nationalists as "reporters": The RWW investigation, published on Monday, reveals the work of “Paul Kersey”, whom it calls a “barely underground member of the white nationalist movement” and a fixture on the roster of racist media outlets and campaign groups. But it also shows that Thompson worked under his own name at institutions like the Leadership Institute, its media arm Campus Reform, and WND, formerly World Net Daily, a once-popular conspiracy-minded conservative outlet, as late as November 2018. www.theguardian.com/world/2020/feb/03/paul-kersey-michael-j-thompson-white-nationalist-reportI did not wish the posting of ADM McRaven's poem to become political, but alas, here we are.
