And Jantz gave it the old college try.

Congratulations Parker!
Jantz ran a brave race, hanging with the CL Seyoum from VaTech for 5+ laps, but ran out of gas. Great season, Jantz! Looking forward to watching him develop through his career.

Robert 2nd in 13:40.66, just behind Beadlescomb of Michigan St., outkicking Ratcliffe of UNC. Great race for Robert, and congratulations on qualifying in a second event!

Euan Makepeace of Butler was 4th in Robert's heat and was the only other qualifier from the Big East; Simon Bedard of Butler was 6th in the first heat and 13th overall, just missing the cut. Both time qualifiers came from Robert's heat. The first heat was super weird, with Kioko from Campbell taking it out in like 2:05/4:12 and building a ~90m lead by 1600 to go, but then eventually almost got caught by the peleton and finished in 13:46 (8th fastest time of the day).

Jack Salisbury finishes third (3:37.18) in Heat 2 of the Men’s 1500 and is off to Eugene and earns an Olympic Trials qualifying time en route.

From letsrun.com: Jack Salisbury continues to impress. 4:04 high schooler who entered this season with PRs of 3:44 and 4:03 (so basically no improvement) has now run 1:49, 3:37, 3:56, and 13:50 (all big PBs) and qualified for his first NCAAs as well as the Olympic Trials.
I think Robert Brandt has contributed some excitement into the men's track and field team. Several of the guys have been motivated by his presence (e.g., the two Jacks. Jantz, Shea, etc.).

Unfortunately, Sami missed qualifying by one place. Her time was 4:17.67. She came in 6th in her heat, while running mostly in the top 5. Then he time was one second slower than the last time qualifier. If she had run the time she ran in the prelims, she would have made it. Struggled down the final straight. Great season by Sami.
