Last meet before the conference, regionals, and NCAA finals.
The men have 21 entered and the women 18. The men have a chance to run the mile in this meet (instead of the usual 1500m). Expecting some sub-4 times, if the weather cooperates and also the rabbits.

From the track and field coaches: We wish to inform all NCAA Division I track & field coaches that the preliminary-round format for the 2021 outdoor & field will include 48 per gender, per site in individual events and 24 per gender, per site in relay events.
Previously, they had limited the number this year to 32, I believe.

My wife Pat and I made the trip to Charlottesville and it was a great trip! Great weather and fast times by the Hoyas plus we got to see some old friends and make some new ones. My first outdoor track meet in almost 2 years and it made up for the drought. Can't wait to do it again possibly in two weeks!
We watched the race from outside the track from a nice vantage point behind the steeple pit. Slightly elevated it provided a nice view and was probably more comfortable than sitting in the bleachers, plus allowed access to speak to others more like a XC meet. We watched with the parents of Matt and Parker whom we know from the high school days; and we met the parents of Lexi, Allie, Chloe and Grace for the first time.
The times pretty much tell the story but I will add that Matt Payamps was bumped in the final stretch and had to slow down and re-accelerate while re-gaining his balance...making his 1:47 low even more incredible...
Parker got kicked a couple of times early and started off in the back of the field, patiently working his way up before launching a massive kick at the final turn to just break 4. Robert and the guys did a great job of pacing Jack to that 3:56. Congratulations to Jack for finally besting Drew Hunter, not too far from Loudon Valley just for emphasis.
There were many great performances by the women as well; I was especially impressed with true freshman Sierra Dineen's 2:09 800m...but then of course I'm biased to the NY kids!
Cam got spiked in the steeple bad enough to require stitches but he toughed it out and finished the race.
These youngsters are making their mark in the record book and establishing themselves among the fastest Hoyas of all time. Congrats to all!

These national rankings are funny. The men did not run last week and still moved from 29th to 27th. This week with some great times the Hoyas fell down to 29th (again). The men contributing to the scores are as follows:
