Really nice pickup - he certainly looks the part and his "4/5 strong, athletic guy that can shoot" position was the biggest need on the roster. Congrats to coach Ewing and the staff for reeling him in, also love that he's got 2 years of eligibility, that is huge.

The highlights look great, and he lit up Xavier last year. Some struggles at times with turnovers but his real issue seems to be near constant foul trouble at times. Only 7 games all year with 2 or less PFs ... and he fouled out of 8 games and had four in 7 more. He looks athletic enough not to foul, so I'm sure our staff can teach him to not overcommit on things like pump fakes. Would actually fit the offense and defense we run better than a traditional center, IMO. Eastern Kentucky presses the whole game and he is their only size. So I don't know if those numbers are reflecting his defense ability.

Coach Ewing does it again.
If Coach Ewing's track record of grad transfers is any indication, then we've got ourselves another solid pickup.
Go Hoyas!

I like. A skilled big who can handle, stretch the floor, has a mid range, and a post up game. Can we petition the Big East to go back to 6 fouls though? lol Between he and Timmy, we'll need them. Welcome young King, Let's work!!!!!!

Yeah I like this pickup...Tre has an uncanny ability to shoot Js off the opposite foot. If Tim or Ryan can keep Tre at the 4 I'll like the move even more.... Welcome to the Hilltop Tre!!!

Ewing is recruiting DDDDOOOOOOGGGGGGSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love his style of play, hard nosed and aggressive with quick feet. His hands are fast on D and seem pretty solid on O. None of the hesitancy we saw from Pickett when it was go time, and none of the limitations we saw from Q in foot work. A lot to look forward to with this kid, glad he is coming to be a Hoya. Good job Coach and staff for bringing this kid in. Very well done.

Ewing is recruiting DDDDOOOOOOGGGGGGSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this is the piece those expecting the team won't improve are missing. I think you can see the types that Ewing is targeting are more hard-nosed, intense, and will go after it. All the incoming kids seem to talk about defense and being intense. Even Carey is talking about his defense. Because of our overall record and because of how we bombed out of the NCAA Tournament, it could be easy to overlook that we were 8-2 in the 10 prior to Colorado; 10-4 post-covid break. That's 10-5 including Colorado, a winning percentage that would translate to ~23 wins in a normal season. Why do I highlight post-covid? Cuz that's when you really saw the intensity of the team change, the dogs come out (to reference bigmanu). Colorado seemed to show we could still let off, so it's not a given. But as much as I like and respect Blair & Pickett as true Hoyas, they did not always have that intensity every game, let alone every play. Bile seemed to and the team's intensity picked up with him going into the starting lineup. The talent level next year may not be greater than the senior level talents of those 3 (plus Qudus), but the intensity level every game and every play I'd expect to be higher with the returning players who saw how much difference it made and the profiles of the new players like Tre King, Aminu, Riley, & Beard. I expect that alone to be worth a handful of more wins, because we saw last year that it was worth at least that many with the same players pre and post covid.

Taller, more athletic, more dynamic on offense, and not opposed to making layups and dunks than Pickett, Wahab and Bile. Sounds like a guy that could make this team even better.

Ewing knows how to find these guys. Bile 2.0. He's got a mans game.

Welcome Tre! Looks like a good player, and we sorely needed some experience in the front court.

Haha okay thanks for clearing that up! lol. This exchange is too funny and great. FWIW, it is not just a DC thing either. I agree. But it was easier to use the Urban dictionary definition! 🤣

Welcome Tre! Definitely fits a need and looks to be a on the court culture fit. I see him more at the 5 then 4 but if he can trust his 3pt game and continue his % while increasing his attempts, then he can definitely play the 4 in big ball and the 4/5 "small" ball.

Ewing knows how to find these guys. Bile 2.0. He's got a mans game. On Bile, while he definitely had a bunch of good attributes and made some solid contributions, he also had some weaknesses in his game that oftentimes hurt us (and especially earlier in the season). So, to the degree this is Bile 2.0, I hope it's an improved version so we do not have to go through those same growing pains like we did in the fall. That said, Tre King seems like a solid addition. To the extent he is developing a three point shot, I hope Ewing allows him to continue to do that.

Coach, make Crouch a full time paid assistant 'tout suite' before someone else does.
