The most corrupt regime in American history so it's fitting that is the "Republican" brand. During Trump’s first months as president, it wasn’t yet clear how much concentrated corruption the nation, or his own party, would tolerate, which is why Trump was compelled to dispose of the occasional Cabinet secretary. Yet nearly everything about Trump’s history in real estate, where he greased palms and bullied officials, suggested that he regarded the government as a lucrative instrument for his own gain. If the first Trump presidency was, for the most part, an improvised exercise in petty corruption, a second would likely consist of systematic abuse of the government. There’s a term to describe the sort of regime that might emerge on the other side: a Mafia state. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2024/01/trump-second-term-mafia-state/676128/Nah, the real problem is the Biden Crime Family.

Poor Mango. Can't assert immunity. Waaah! A federal appeals court ruled that former President Trump cannot assert presidential immunity in a defamation lawsuit brought by writer E. Jean Carroll, denying Trump’s bid to avoid civil trial next month and thus setting up a Supreme Court battle. A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit ruled against Trump, finding that presidential immunity could be waived as a defense and that Trump had in fact waived it. thehill.com/homenews/4357974-trump-immunity-e-jean-carroll-denied-appeals-panel-supreme-court-battle/And "Republicans" - makes a great stocking stuffer! MAGA GOPers are such incredibly ignorant cultists. Former President Donald Trump is selling snippets of the clothes he wore the day of his arrest in a Georgia state election case, part of a promotional pitch for a new set of NFT “digital trading cards.” www.cnbc.com/2023/12/12/trump-sells-mugshot-suit-mar-a-lago-dinner-in-latest-nft-promotion.html

Goober Comer got some explaining to do but he can't. He's an ignorant goober- as are most MAGA GOPers. Trump’s deal with LIV Golf is awkward for his impeachment-happy allies During an interview on Fox Business on Thursday, House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) soberly explained why he and his colleagues believed that President Biden should be investigated for possible impeachment. This is just one slice of the foreign money that the Trump Organization takes in, of course. The company has properties in a number of foreign countries, not all of them particularly friendly to the United States. And if we’re expanding culpability to close family members — as Comer and his allies are forced to do to attack Joe Biden — we can mention the $2 billion given by the PIF to Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner’s investment company soon after Trump left the White House. That “billion” is not a typo. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/12/15/trump-liv-golf-deal-saudi/

Decompensating.
In a 28-minute span, starting at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Donald Trump published 30 posts about E. Jean Carroll on his social media platform. Carroll won a $5 million judgment against Trump last year in a civil sexual assault and defamation case and is suing him again for defamation. The burst of online activity comes 11 days before the Iowa caucuses and shows how Trump is balancing campaigning with his ongoing legal challenges.

Grifter-in-Chief is going to have a cash flow problem. Moron. A New York judge ordered Donald Trump to pay The New York Times $392,638 in legal fees Friday following the former president's failed lawsuit against the newspaper. In 2021, Trump sued his niece Mary Trump, The New York Times and three of its reporters over an alleged breach of a confidentiality agreement related to his tax records. Trump alleged that the reporters were "motivated by a personal vendetta" when they engaged in a "insidious plot" to get his personal tax records. abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-ordered-pay-legal-fees-failed-new-york/story?id=106333806
