Cuffari appointed by the orange psycho. So there's a presumption he's dishonest and may be a cancer from within. Should be fired for cause. The lawmakers said in a letter that Cuffari’s refusal is part of a pattern of resistance to their efforts to delve into complaints about his office. They said they have written to him three times since May to request documents about allegations that his office “censored findings of domestic abuse and sexual harassment” by DHS workers, his failure to promptly notify Congress about the Secret Service missing texts, and new reports that documented his “repeated failures” to recover the messages. www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2022/08/16/missing-secret-service-texts-cuffari/

1) I am not hiring lawyers 2) I am not being charged with anything 3) I did nothing wrong 4) This is highly political prosecutorial misconduct!

A federal appeals court has ordered the release of a secret Justice Department memo discussing whether President Donald Trump obstructed the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. "We’re going to get the secret memo Barr used to undercut the Mueller Report and claim it was insufficient to find Trump obstructed justice,” the ethics watchdog wrote. “And we’re going to make it public.” www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/08/19/barr-memo-court-mueller-release-russia/

The iron law of scandals involving Donald Trump is that they will always be stupid, and there will always be more of them. Trump scandals—the Russia investigation; Trump’s first impeachment, over his efforts to blackmail Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky; the insurrection on January 6—have something else in common: All these catastrophes result from Trump’s refusal to divorce the office of the presidency and the good of the country from his personal desires. Now Trump’s apparent squirreling away of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, and his outrage over the Justice Department’s investigation of that conduct, speaks once more to his vision of his own absolute authority—even after he has departed the presidency. It’s a vision that places Trump himself, rather than the Constitution and the rule of law, as the one true source of legitimate political power. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2022/08/trump-fbi-mar-a-lago-classified-documents/671192/

I am forever amused and amazed at the ethical and logical contortions tRump supporters have to tie themselves up in in order to believe the lies and conspiracy insanity. tRump recently told the story about a convo he had with a supporter who told tRump that he must be the most persecuted person in history. tRump replied that he'd never really thought of it that way and agreed that, yes, he must be the most persecuted person in history.
O.K., probably not a true story. Like almost for sure. Def not true that he's never though of it that way -- he's whined & pouted about the witch hunts and fake news forever.
But how does anyone get around this lineup: The Trump Investigations Classified Documents Inquiry Georgia Election Case Jan. 6 Investigations New York A.G.’s Inquiry

Posted that before I finished --
just what level of self-delusion and willingness to be told what to think is needed to override common sense, logic, and evidence -- even in the face of contradictions to the truth and buffoonery, ineptitude, & a$$-clownery? THAT'S what wakes me up at 2a.m. frightened to the core that people can be led to such a state AND they have lots of guns.

One of the mango maniac's "best people." Has there ever been a more corrupt regime than that of the orange psycho's? Can any of our HoyaTalk "Republicans" enlighten us??? Their values also your values??? Former Interior secretary Ryan Zinke, the leading contender to win a new House seat representing Montana this fall, lied to investigators several times about conversations he had with federal officials, lawmakers and lobbyists about a petition by two Indian tribes to operate a casino in New England, the department’s watchdog said in a report released Wednesday. “We found that both Secretary Zinke and the [chief of staff] made statements that presented an inaccurate version of the circumstances in which [the Interior Department] made key decisions,” the report said. “As a result, we concluded that Secretary Zinke and the [chief of staff] did not comply with their duty of candor when questioned.” www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2022/08/24/ryan-zinke-misled-investigators-watchdog-report/

At least Barr's place is set -- the most corrupt and political AG in American history. I think he surpasses John Mitchell. In response to a court order, the Justice Department has released a 2019 internal memorandum to then-Attorney General William P. Barr concerning whether the evidence gathered by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III would justify charging then-President Donald Trump with obstruction of justice. As Mueller noted in his report, the prospect of charging a president with obstruction raises difficult issues. But this newly released memo is not a serious attempt to grapple with those issues. It’s a whitewash — a failed effort to provide legal cover for Barr’s foregone conclusion exonerating the president. And as the statute of limitations clock continues to tick away, we still don’t have an honest assessment from the Justice Department regarding Trump and obstruction. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/08/25/barr-memo-trump-obstruction-justice/

What do you expect when you hire moron Devin Nunes as CEO and put ignoramus Kash Patel on your board of directors? Former president Donald Trump’s Truth Social website is facing financial challenges as its traffic remains puny and the company that is scheduled to acquire it expresses fear that his legal troubles could lead to a decline in his popularity. Six months after its high-profile launch, the site — a clone of Twitter, which banned Trump after Jan. 6, 2021 — still has no guaranteed source of revenue and a questionable path to growth, according to Securities and Exchange Commission filings from Digital World Acquisition, the company planning to take Trump’s start-up, the Trump Media & Technology Group, public. The company warned this week that its business could be damaged if Trump “becomes less popular or there are further controversies that damage his credibility.” The company has seen its stock price plunge nearly 75 percent since its March peak and reported in a filing last week that it had lost $6.5 million in the first half of the year. Trump’s businesses have faced many similar payment battles over the years. In past SEC filings, Digital World has also noted that “a number of companies that were associated with [Trump] have filed for bankruptcy” and that “there can be no assurances that [Trump’s media company] will not also become bankrupt.” In fact, Digital World’s filings have been consistently downbeat on the likelihood that Truth Social will be a success. Trump’s company “may never generate any operating revenues or ever achieve profitable operations,” it said in May, and if it is “unsuccessful in addressing [its] risks, its business will most likely fail.” www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/08/27/trump-truth-social-mar-a-lago-fbi/

MAGA GOP still claiming to be the party of law and order? It's as laughable as it proclaiming itself pro-life. Every "Republican" running for office should be asked whether they agree or disagree with mango on this. Former president Donald Trump said he would issue full pardons and a government apology to rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and violently attacked law enforcement to stop the democratic transfer of power. “I mean full pardons with an apology to many,” he told conservative radio host Wendy Bell on Thursday morning. Such a move would be contingent on Trump running and winning the 2024 presidential election. Supporters of the former president attacked the Capitol as Congress was certifying Joe Biden’s electoral college win in the 2020 election, the worst attack on the seat of democracy in more than two centuries. The insurrection left four people dead and an officer who had been sprayed with a powerful chemical irritant, Brian D. Sicknick, suffered a stroke and died the next day. Some 140 members of law enforcement were injured as rioters attacked them with flagpoles, baseball bats, stun guns, bear spray and pepper spray. Trump, during his conversation with Bell on Thursday morning, also said he met with some Jan. 6 defendants in his office this week and that he is helping some financially. “I am financially supporting people that are incredible and they were in my office actually two days ago, so they’re very much in my mind,” Trump said. “It’s a disgrace what they’ve done to them. What they’ve done to these people is disgraceful.” www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2022/09/01/trump-jan-6-rioters-pardon/
