"Republicans" corrupt for the last 50 years. President George Washington, in his celebrated 1796 Farewell Address, cautioned that American democracy was fragile. “Cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government,” he warned. Two of his successors — Richard Nixon and Donald Trump — demonstrate the shocking genius of our first president’s foresight. www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2022/06/05/woodward-bernstein-nixon-trump/

Disqualify the orange POS. There is actually a disquietingly strong case at this point that Trump should be disqualified under Section 3 as a factual matter. I say “disquietingly” because the prospect of seeing his name blocked from the ballot in at least some states—though certainly not in others—gives pause in terms of both the violence it might unleash among his followers and the chaos it could bring to the 2024 presidential election. www.lawfareblog.com/after-cawthorn-ruling-can-trump-be-saved-section-3-14th-amendment

Let's put it more simply: when Trump runs in 2024, what rationale are the Hoyatalk "Republicans" using for throwing their votes his way? At this point, you can't point to any sense of values or any policies. The things he promised to do the last time, he couldn't have been less successful at achieving. The man couldn't get a wall built. And, he's a "successful" real estate developer. I worked construction with my father for the entirety of my childhood and through my teens and early twenties. Much of construction has more skill involved than most people think (I beg you to try to spackle a room on your own and see how you fare). Assuming you don't care how it looks, building a solid wall requires absolutely no skill whatsoever. And, your orange idiot couldn't even accomplish that. Maybe it got started and the first subcontractors never got a check for the work performed and it died on the vine. Seems entirely possible. That said, you can't vote for him on character. You can't vote for him on policy. You can't vote for him on integrity. You can't vote for him on trustworthiness. You can't vote for him on strengthening America's position in the world. You can't vote for him for increased standing with NATO or with any of our non-NATO allies. You can't vote for him for helping the middle class. So, is it just the racism, the authoritarianism and the tax cuts for the exceedingly wealthy? As always, I'm sure there will be no response because y'all have gone so far down the rabbit hole of stupidity, selfishness and hatred that even you know you can't rationalize any of it.

That's their rationale for support of the orange psycho whether they'll admit it to themselves or not. The MAGA GOP is simply a White supremacist, authoritarian cult fearful of losing its grip on its heretofore unchallenged power in the United States. They are despicable. I'd even be in for sending some players to be named later just to be rid of these traitors.

Trump supporters have to be the easiest marks in history. How many times can you get conned by the same guy and not learn? I guess if you’re gullible enough to believe such a patently obvious conman in the first place, you’re gullible enough to fall for anything… over and over and over again.

“There’s a sucker born every minute,” usually attributed to PT Barnum.
Fits MAGA GOP cultists to a "T".

I guess the mango maniac doesn't understand irony. And how dumb and ignorant are MAGA GOPers that they continue to give $$$$ to the grifter-in-chief? They have to be the most clueless deplorables in America. The letter was one of dozens of demands that Trump’s attorneys and aides have sent in recent years. But those efforts have not stopped the deceptive solicitations that flood Republican phones and inboxes daily. Eighteen months after leaving office, Trump remains the biggest draw for GOP donors, especially those who give small contributions. While he continues to rake in money, he also faces armies of unaffiliated fundraisers who ape or mimic Trump appeals and sometimes threaten or bully Republicans in Trump’s name to get money. At the same time, Trump himself is no stranger to misleading fundraising appeals. His team often sends a dozen or more appeals in a day to gin up money, often with suspect claims, like saying donations will be matched 700 percent. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/07/04/trump-cease-desist-fundraising/

Odd that someone would have referred to these people as "deplorables." Once, again, a Democrat was FAR too diplomatic.

Shocker, right? How corrupt. But certainly deserving of a pardon, right HoyaTalk "Republicans"? The Army should recall the traitor to active duty and court-martial him. Are the orange psycho's values also yours? Would you sell out your country to the highest bidder as well? Investigators determined that Flynn received nearly $450,000 from Turkish and Russian interests in 2015, including for an appearance in Moscow alongside President Vladimir Putin, but found no records that he had sought government approval beforehand. Their findings are detailed in a January 2021 memo to the Army released through the Freedom of Information Act on Thursday. www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2022/07/08/michael-flynn-foreign-payments/Since the Uniform Code of Military Justice’s inception in 1950, the code has allowed the military to court-martial certain military retirees. While court-martial proceedings against retirees are rare, “the threat of a court-martial is very real.” Article I of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress the power to “make rules for the government and regulation” of military forces. Congress has promulgated these rules through the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). In addition to outlining the rules and procedures of courts-martial, the UCMJ defines the military justice system’s jurisdiction. Unlike most civilian jurisdictions, UCMJ jurisdiction is not territorially bound. Instead, jurisdiction is predicated upon an individual’s relationship to the military. As one might expect, the code applies at all times to active-duty military members, students at the service academies, prisoners of war, and those serving sentences imposed by a court-martial. It also applies to both reservists and national guardsmen during inactive duty training, so long as the national guardsmen are in federal service. And the UCMJ can apply to certain civilians that interact closely with the military. But jurisdiction over military retirees stands out as peculiar. Article 2(a)(4) allows for the court-martial of regular component (Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard) retirees who are entitled to pay, and Article 2(a)(6) allows for the court-martial of retirees who are part of the Fleet Reserve or Fleet Marine Corps Reserve. Moreover, despite their retiree status, these two groups are treated like active-duty members in that they are continuously subject to UCMJ jurisdiction. SOURCE: fedsoc.org, Feb. 2021
