The race to land top 25 senior guard Jalen Hood-Schifino is nearing completion. Late Monday night the 6-foot-5 guard at Montverde (Fla.) Academy's mother confirmed to 247Sports that her son is down to a final two of Indiana and Tennessee and that he'll be announcing his commitment in a week, August 24th. A physical guard who is capable of playing all three positions on the perimeter, Hood-Schifino is among the best two way players in the country. He makes winning plays as either a scorer or distributor when he has the ball in his hands and on the defensive end his toughness and high basketball IQ allow him to be one of the very best perimeter defenders in the class of 2022. Earlier this month, Hood-Schifino broke down what he likes about Mike Woodson's Hoosiers and Rick Barnes Volunteers. “Coach (Kenya) Hunter has been recruiting me the longest, so the relationship is there," said Hood-Schifino about Indiana. "He’s great. And Coach Woodson has been where I’m trying to go. Coach Woodson has had great success in the NBA. I can’t wait to see his transition on the college level.” As for Tennessee? “I’ve built a relationship with Coach Barnes and Coach Gainey," said Hood-Schifino. "They’ve been great. And we obviously know Coach Barnes track record.” 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Top-25-senior-Jalen-Hood-Schifino-down-to-a-pair-Indiana-Tennessee-169250473/
