Big time Hoya priority recruit. Visiting very soon. Did I mention top priority for the people who matter? Let’s get on this Hoya faithful!

Why is he a "big time Hoya priority recruit"?...I don't doubt you but what can you tell us about him?

I’m not sure. Official visit we know. Highly rated and skilled kid we all have read. Only passing on what I’ve heard from an excellent source.

Because he is the #26 ranked player in his class according to 247 Sports. If there is legit interest on his side he would be the highest ranked player in our 22 class. If you ask me this kid is #2 on the '22 priority list behind Ward. And that's only because Ward likes GTown and is local.

Jalen Hood-Schifino is ranked the No. 32 player in the 2022 Rivals150. The Montverde (Fla.) Academy guard has a unique style and is coming off a Geico National Championship. “I feel like I am a two-way guard. I play the best with the ball in my hands, but I have the versatility to play off the ball as well," Hood-Schifino said. "Obviously, on defense, I have gotten way better. I want to guard the other team’s best player at any perimeter position. I feel like I am able to really do a lot on the floor. A lot of older people think I play like Jason Kidd, I have watched some film on him and I can see some similarities for sure.” “I have a couple of visits set," he said. "June first, I am going to Wake Forest on an unofficial. June 13 through the 15th I am going to Tennessee, June ninth through the 11th I am going to Georgetown. I am going to Pitt June 16th through the 18th, and then at the end of the month I am going to Indiana from June 28 through the 30th.” Georgetown: “I have been talking to them for a while now, head coach Patrick Ewing and (assistant coach) Akbar Waheed. The history of the program is great and there have been a lot of all-time great players who have come from there. I am definitely excited to see these coaches in person and see how everything goes up there.” “I am going to definitely use all my visits up; I don’t have a time frame. I am taking my time with it all and don’t want to rush the decision,” Hood-Schifino said. “I have been talking to Oregon a lot recently. They haven’t offered yet. I feel that after my play in July, when schools can get out and see me, a lot of schools will come on board. "The main thing for me will be fit, I want to go somewhere where I can play right away and be able to play my game, with the ball in my hands. I want to be around winning people, in a winning program with a winning culture. I want to be able to go to college and win, learn and be able to do well and be pushed.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/versatile-guard-jalen-hood-schifino-lining-up-visits

As for Jalen and most 2022 prospects, I’d expect them to use all 5 OVs before coming to a decision. These guys haven’t been able to visit any colleges over the past year and a half.

Getting Jalen and Ward would be the dream and help make a top tier conference backcourt. Tennessee might be hard to beat considering they just pulled the no 2 or 3 recruiting class for 2021 and were just a 5 seed so maybe them pulling other 5 star guards can tempt him to come to us for more time

Strange times in recruiting when families are involved. Between the AAU, the private schools, bribes and interfering family, recruiting is just absurd these days, hopefully we can get this guy preferably his uncle is def not involved like he says

Tennessee, viewed as a top competitor, just signed a four star point guard BJ Edwards which hopefully gives us a lane to Jalen, who visited wake forest and Indiana but no shade at them, we are a better spot right now and Jalen is currently 26 overall

A little surprised to not make his top 5. It sounded like he really liked his visit to campus and that the Hoyas were in a good spot and there was mutual interest. Recruiting is such a tough thing to really know what is going on with these young men. Good luck to him

I think Anglin took the open guard spot, for good or for worse. We are likely looking at a 3 and a 4 for the final 2 open spots. Let's tie down Watson and swing for the fences with the last spot. If we can't snag a stud out of high school, then save the scholarship for a transfer.

Agreed, I think someone said Watson is apparently waiting for the offer to commit and it would seem foolish not to take a solid local and at worst save the possible 3 rd spot for a good transfer but going for Livingston or Martin who I think is still worth being on
