Wasn't this always the plan? The Final Four is in Indy so it only made sense that the whole thing would take place there. Having a bubble in Indy makes sense for safety reasons, but I wonder if they were condense the schedule of games to shorten how long the "tournament" last. Otherwise are they going to keep the teams that continue to win in a bubble in Indy for about a month? I thought these kids were supposed to at least pretend to begin school!!!!

I mean it’s pretty much all virtual learning anyway. And they would have been trapped at their home school team bubble for 3 months already so I’m sure most would welcome a change of scenery to a 4 star bubble hotel for anywhere from 4 days to a month.

BC gets what is deserves in the ACC. They will never be more than an afterthought in that conference in any of the sports. They went for the money grab with all of the football revenue and have been a second class athletics program ever since. They really should have stayed in the Big East, they fit right in with all of the other BE schools with size of enrollment and for the recruiting ability for the majority of the sports programs and I am sure they could have found some other conference to play football in where they could be competitive on a yearly basis. It would have helped the Big East by adding another major media market for the conference.

It's no better than the third sport at Chestnut Hill behind football and hockey. The BC leadership cast their lot with football after the Flutie years, as it allowed them (in their view) to move away from being in the shadow of Georgetown (and to a lesser extent, Holy Cross) to transform itself into a New England version of Notre Dame, athletically and academically. Not surprisingly, it failed. The Big East gave BC national visibility. So it's not a shock that BC basketball has fallen off the map once its last Big East recruited classes graduated in 2009, and they haven't been to a single NCAA or NIT since. For any ACC school to be shut out of the post season 11 consecutive seasons (soon, 12) is as remarkable as it is pathetic, but as long as the Eagles can get to the Quicklane Bowl, Birmingham Bowl or some generic December exhibition game, all is well. BC's record in bowls since 2007? 1-6.

I read years ago the Kentucky's horrible football program makes 3x's the profit than its renowned basketball program.

BC's record in bowls since 2007? 1-6. The history of the BC basketball program was always better than the football program, outside of those Flutie years. They were never going to be a national power in basketball on a consistent basis, but they were a tournament/borderline tournament team ever few years in basketball. Since Flutie left, the football program has progressively gotten worse and they are never going to compete on a recruiting basis with the other southern football programs in the ACC. They do get all of that football money now, but their level of TV exposure is less now then it would have been if they stayed in the Big East, at least they would have their basketball games on Fox Sports. You are correct that BC has always hoped they could be viewed as the Notre Dame of the Northeast, but have never really made the jump. They will end up firing another basketball coach at the end of this season and starting all over again. It is a dead end job for coach at this point and the only guys they can get use it as a stepping stone job.

I could see him retire after this season. It’s not going to get any easier with the best high school players opting to go G League select.

No way. He will go out on his (or Pete Gaudet’s) shield...
