Doesn't look like UMBC has updated their online roster for this year yet. umbcretrievers.com/sports/mbkb/2019-20/rosterLooks like they will field 3 seniors inside - a 6'8" 240 Serb transfer from Eastern Carolina, a 6'9" Brit who provides limited scoring and Brandon Horvath, a 6'10" 210 kid out of West River, MD who will be the biggest challenge on the boards and defensively. Together they will make an interesting, experienced challenge for our inside guys, though they can't match Q or TimI for size. If Darnell Rogers comes back healthy, he will be their go to guard and playmaker with one other guard, RJ Eytle-Rock providing the outside threat. Not sure who they pick up new this year, but the core is not exactly intimidating. This game will be about establishing our identity and playing our game plan. If we can't gel and impose our will on Wednesday, the season gets long quickly. I expect to see Pick getting a lot of plays run for him, feeding the post for Q and TimI to dominate inside and, hopefully, Bile and Carey and the other news guys finding PT, outside shots and perimeter D. Anything can happen in 2020, but getting a game tipped off at 4 on Wednesday will be a welcome milestone in moving beyond last year's roster implosion and all the rest that has happened. Can't wait to see some Hoya ball!

In addition to some transfers coming in, I believe this team returns 4 of their starters from last year. They are also projected to finish 2nd in their conference. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were a tight game.

We really need Qudus and Jamorko to step forward big time to become the leaders. And we need to show dramatic improvement on the defensive side. That’s a lot of “ifs” but hope (and anxiety) springs eternal. Hoya Saxa.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it were a tight game. UMBC was hit hard by the injury bug last year. They had 12 different starting lineups in their first 13 games. That's insane, especially for a mid major team which just isn't built to handle that. This isn't the cake walk it was last year. We should win, but the defense has to be better. It has to be. No excuses. If it's not, UMBC could pull off another upset.

If you were to PICKETT this game I think we will grin & BLAIR it with a lot of substitution WAHAB you. TIM inimize UMBC offense we will play HARRIS ing defense CAREY ing over both halves. SIBLEY put the UMBC guards will have plenty of BILE in their stomachs as they fend off DANTE’s inferno of defense. . I believe the team will Be MALCOLM Coach Ewing very happy. So happy he will most likely celebrate with a KOBE steak or even a prime BERGER.

If the game starts off sloppy on offense and things don't go immediately well, pound the ball inside to Wahab until the team settles down. That would be my advice.

I hope we hit the ground running. Play high pressure D and go deep in the rotation. If we end up in the half court, pound it inside and work from there. Hopefully the guys that shoot let it fly and the guys that bang show their meanery.
GO HOYAS!!

I don't think UMBC has anyone that can stop Big Tim.
