Well, that's not great news. Is Bonsey a possibility to fill the role? Or do people think that "The search for Culley's replacement will begin immediately." mean they're focusing on external candidates? NevadaHoya for DTF 2020!
With all the national success alums have had recently, it would be great for an alum to have similar success coaching the Hoyas (please note that I'm not being critical of Milt or Mike for coaching other schools). Speaking of alums, I don't suppose someone could talk John Trautman into leaving his post with NJNYTC?

Birdman, we must think alike. LOL! I was proposing John Trautman, also Bonsey, and Milt. As far as Milt goes, he was quoted as "The Hilltop will always be home and hopefully my path may lead back there some day." I doubt if Mike Smith will be interested. Another candidate could be alum Dan Ireland, Coach at Columbia.
Julie will transition to moving to the corporate space leading Brooks Running in their Sports Marketing role. She will be very close to the coaches and athletes as she will be overseeing Danny Mackay and the Brooks Beasts, the Hansons brothers and their team, as well as Des Linden. And she graduated with her masters this spring so she can officially say FOREVER A HOYA!

In what may or may not be a relation incident Spencer Brown just joined the Brooks Beast. Not sure if this is the right place to embed this, but here's Spencer's Athlete's Special episode announcing joining Brooks Beast: Congratulations, Spencer! I'm really enjoying the workout footage and content, even though I have had that Bryce Vine song stuck in my head for the last two weeks.

I like this Q&A:
Spencer Brown is a Georgetown runner who recently signed a deal with Brooks. Did you have anything to do with that? Not that he’s any slouch on the track, but he’s better known as a YouTuber. How much does a social media following that an athlete has come into play?
Culley: It kind of looks like it happened together, but it was just interesting timing. [Our deals] happened within 48 hours of each other.
He’s a YouTube sensation. It’s new territory, right? Spencer’s sister basically dared him a few years ago, “Why don’t you start filming your experience as a college athlete? I think there’d be a lot of people interested what your life is like running at Georgetown.” A few years later he’s got over 50,000 views per video.
As one of his coaches at Georgetown, at first it was like, “What is going on here? This is crazy.” But it ended up bringing a lot of notoriety to the program. There were a lot of high school kids who would come and say, “Oh yeah, I know The Athlete Special,” which was hilarious.
Brooks is trying something new here. It’s kind of uncharted territory, but it’s really exciting. Spencer is really talented but his social media presence is boosting his marketability. This is unique. Let’s talk about how we could bring more excitement, an inside look at our elite training camp and follow Spencer on his journey to try to make the Olympic Trials next year and try to make an Olympic Trials final. There’s something really cool about being intimately involved in that journey.
To Spencer’s credit, he’s had to be really vulnerable. That’s a hard thing to do. You’re already vulnerable stepping out onto the track doing something you haven’t done before. Through his videos, he’s vulnerable to his failures. He’ll talk about his failures, his wins and his excitement with that. I think people really connect with that.

Alton McKenzie announced as the new Director of Track & Field/Cross Country.
“I am humbled and very honored for this opportunity to lead our program, which has been a part of my life for some time,” said McKenzie. “Having competed under the tutelage of the esteemed coach Frank Gagliano, and now being in the position to be the Director of Track & Field, I feel immense pride and appreciation for Georgetown Athletics as I embark on this journey. I have had the privilege of being a part of a rich history of leadership in Georgetown Athletics, and that tradition has continued under our Athletic Director Lee Reed, who I cannot thank enough for entrusting me to advance the legacy of Track & Field and Cross Country. I, along with a supportive team and staff, look forward to facing all the challenges that come with realizing those successes and helping to develop Hoyas who are productive contributors to our world beyond the Hilltop. HOYA SAXA!”
