Or maybe they agreed that coming in mid year would not be in his best interest with the uncertainties surrounding Covid and the fact that the team has already been practicing for about two months (at the end of the first semester) and having already played several league games...might serve him better to come in fresh next fall...or maybe he is coming at the end of the first semester and just decided to hold off announcing it until he's ready to matriculate, just to be on the cautious side...hoping for the best in any case...

I think you guys are reading too much into it. They can't join a team until next semester so they probably decided not to rush the decision. It's the smart thing to do because with the pandemic there's no telling what things will look like even a couple weeks from now.

I think pushing this out only helps us. We don't have a scholarship available so this gives us more time. Georgia picking up another wing player doesn't have to mean they wouldn't still offer Aminu but it can't hurt either. Maybe they saw the writing on the wall. Still hopeful this will work itself out and looks like Indiana is our biggest competition at this stage.

That is a good point can just hope. Also, knowing to take everything with a grain of salt, someone responded to a Casual Hoya tweet with "Rivals is reporting, 'A really great source indicated aminu to gtown...'" Does anyone know who or what the source was or just a premium account to see what the forum says and if it is has any ground. It was like a week ago when it was posted. georgetown.forums.rivals.com/threads/great-source-points-to-eye-popping-news.17813/

I get that. Could be that whatever they heard on the call told them that there wasn’t going to be an opening at GU and needed some more time to figure out where they wanted to go instead. Or, better yet, a scholarship becomes available due to a mid-year transfer right after semester ends. We had 5 mid year transfers last year so historical stats say this will work itself out

The one thing I wonder is if he was even considering going pro after this season. If so, why wouldn't he just join the G League?

" The minimum age to play in the G League is 18, unlike the NBA which requires players to be 19 years old and one year out of high school in order to sign an NBA"

We talked about this last month but where do you stand with the possible early enrollment?
Mohammed: “Enrolling early all depends on if my season is canceled. If I do it will have me prepared and ready to play next year.”
Any recent virtual meetings?
Mohammed: “DePaul and Georgetown.”
How did those go?
Mohammed: “It went alright, both schools are just telling me more about their programs and how it will be a good fit for me basically.”
When are you aiming for a decision?
Mohammed: “I think the decision is still set for December, could be January if not.”

Article doesn’t sound like the author is privy to any inside information on this recruitment. Not too stressed about being #3.

Well at least Indiana got blown out as well. But Georgia has not lost yet... I like to be an optimist, but this seems shot unless we pull something major against WV or at least not get embarrassed and blow out Coppin St. But even then doubtful for this one

Doubt he's coming here after watching us this year... Not with that attitude. Lots of PT for the freshman next year.

Doubt he's coming here after watching us this year... Not with that attitude. Lots of PT for the freshman next year. Lots of PT and really low expectations. Plus all of these highly ranked recruits believe that they can come in and turn things around....
