The NIT is not taking any automatic qualifiers this year (teams that won their regular season conference title but lost in the conference tournament), but it still seems pretty unlikely we could make a 16 team all at-large field. I think it will matter what the people running the NIT this year want from the tournament. If TV ratings and getting more "big name" matchups is important, then a few teams like Georgetown might get more consideration than they normally might, or probably deserve. There are handful of teams around the country right around the .500 mark that are normally NCAA teams and have a high profile nationally. The easiest thing for the Hoyas would be to win this weekend and then win at least two game in the BE tournament and then I think they would be squarely in the conversation or the NIT. I think the Hoyas do have a fairly high SOS, which should also help.

I am still in a state of utter disbelief. The trajectory of this program (or at least the perception of it) was just flipped upside down in a span of four amazing days.
And I’m feeling crazy enough to put our boys in the Sweet 16 in my bracket lmao. Might not happen but I’m going to keep riding this crazy train until the wheels fall off.

We're going to win the Big East and get in the big dance. It will be a shocker!! If we can play our best, anything is possible. Every team member has to be ready to step up and in to the game. Bench players have to keep the starters sharp!!!! Post of the year.

It would be nice to win one BE Tournament game. 🙏🏻 I'm not bumping this to call you out Bigs. It's just the post that most embodies the state of the fanbase just 2wks ago. Two weeks ago we were all just hoping for 1 BE tourney win and now most of us feel there is a legit chance we can make the Sweet 16. Unbelievable!!!!

Just fun to be relevant again...and finally have a ton of momentum. Feels like Pat has turned the corner between last week's miracle and the incoming recruiting class. Trajectory looks to be steep and upward for first time in a very long time ('06 post-FLA is last time I felt this good). And even that was a little different, because as good as some of JT3's teams were, they were never flat nasty like Pat's group flexed in NYC. That Creighton beatdown was straight Pops. That's a totally different animal.

But it was never intimidating. Bile's dunk off the inbounds pass against Creighton reminded me immediately of Michael Graham. Would be amazing if we could bring back the Big, Bad Georgetown brand of old.

In the game against Seton Hall the blocking call on Wahab against Mamu and the fact his ham-n-egger dunk attempt went in could have sunk most teams. This team went from mentally fragile to steel in a week.
You cannot prepare to stop any one Hoya. I watched most BE Tournament games again and this zone wrinkle is working. Watching off the ball CHUDIER delivers some physical play and Pickett has begun to as well. Nothing dirty but little reminders and letting the opponent “feel you”. Dante Harris celebrates his teammates play much more than his own. That is a PG. haven’t seen many uncontested layups and dunks by opponents either. Big Tim has stopped going for every head fake and is looking like a taller Wes Unseld on the defensive boards.
The HOYAS have become a real TEAM. Their sum is better than the parts.

If dchoya72 has any lottery number suggestions, the board is all ears! I wish!! I just believe in our Hoyas and think the best is yet to come. They are surprising me every game. They believe in themselves, and they leave it all on the floor.

We've got lots of weapons and our defense is one of them. They are looking wiser, more cohesive, like they understand the moment and are playing for each other.

He is a difference maker. I am downright giddy on the whole team. Never has the universe been pulling for the Hoyas like this.

We are bringing this back bc let’s be real Hoya talk has sucked worse than usual this month. For all of the unknowns this season I am still very pumped to see how it will all shake out like I wanna see riley blow everyone away by showing he deserved to be higher and make UConn and johnnies hate missing out on him. Also with the other new blood (first 5 star frosh in ages) and future recruits like getting Livingston and keeping this group together for next year could put us in the top 25 easily I believe and yes that is a lot of if’s but this is the optimism thread

I'm all for optimism but the "intimidation" days are over and they're not coming back. If they played with intimidation, they'd not be able to field a team in the 4th quarter. It's a very different game than when the Hoyas physically punished guys for attempting to drive the paint and, even if they made it near the hoop, Patrick would toss that sh!t to a teammate for a run-out. Now, everyone whines whenever they miss a shot because it must've been someone else's fault for invading their personal space. I'm hoping the rubberband snaps back a bit at some point soon because the incessant whining for a foul on every play is ridiculous and sad.

One of our “soft teams” fought the Chinese army, we are still totally team of paranoia. Why do you think all the other teams come into our gym with a chip on their shoulder?
