I confess I have not gone back to look at film but I recall Julian Vaughn as a guy whose success was based more on hustle than bounce. Yeah, neither guy is built bouncy athletic, so that’s why I’m confused about the comparison. Jalin looks good in a drill by himself in a gym, but I wouldn’t consider him to be a bouncy player. If he has anywhere near the pivot and change of direction you have, he’ll be 1st team all BE!!

A natural righty who likes to go the left. He knows his strengths and limitations and is honest about it. A great pick up.

I think he will be a solid piece in a few years.

I think he will be a solid piece in a few years. Those expectations are too low imo.

I feel if he was coming in this season he would end up getting more playing time than the more highly regarded Sibley because he has a handle and a legit faceup game.

Is there a little Marcus Derrickson in his game?

He doesn’t start for his team? He has nice offensive moves to reach the rim which we could use this year, but needs to be quicker and more explosive. That said, his defense fits right in with what we’ve been doing for the last 3 1/2 years under Ewing. That video showed him playing AAU defense in a high school game. I hope it was just during the highlights.

The biggest challenge for the staff will be getting him to play hard every minute.
