I like his versatility and think he has great potential. If the chemistry is right he can help in a big way. How tall is he really? Ive seen statements of 6-7 to 6-9.

Tbh I don't think he's much like any of those players but Paul White is the closest. I like his game a lot but let's not compare him to lottery picks just yet lol. White was a better ballhandler but didn't have nearly the same hops.

Someone mentioned Rui Hachimura as a comparison, I like that, not sure if it was on this board. That was me. I don't think he's as good as Rui, obviously, but they play very similar. When I think player comparison, I go more off of who they play like vs what I expect of them as a college/pro player. As for the comparison, both work best out of the high post with a decent handle, both can create out of that area and look to slash first, but can shoot it from there well and from three if left wide open. Both have good mechanics and I've been watching the Wizards so that's probably why it came up. That's the best I came up with.

Right. I was thinking mid-range and handle primarily, Jalin may have a softer touch from 3 but the comparison is spot on.

EIGHT BIG EAST teams are in the Top 50 for recruiting for the 2021 class and I believe we have eleven teams, right? BIG EAST is gonna be a beast! 247sports.com/Season/2020-Basketball/CompositeTeamRankings/For frame of reference, with our current group of commits (three 3*), this would have been good for roughly 49th-78th last year (assuming the wide range of 3* and that we have guys on the higher end of this range, I would expect us to be closer to 49th). If we're able to add a 4* with the last schollie, this would put us around 29th-45th. If we're able to somehow align the stars and land a 5* (Mohammed is a viable option IMO but the people who are penciling him into the lineup are getting ahead of themselves), Kansas finished 22nd last year with a similar haul. Reason I say all this is because while we've had a pretty good start to 2021 and the current projections put us at 16th, that doesn't mean other schools aren't going to add players as well. There is reason for optimism, but we are far from having locked a top 20 or even 30 class at this point. Back to Jalin: I think it's a solid get to fill a position we badly needed to shore up. He looks like he has room to grow/develop and really be a significant contributor. I do like that him, Riley, and Beard all seem to having an attacking mindset and willingness to use physicality as an asset than we've had in past seasons. It's tough for freshmen, but if they're able to really cut down on the mistakes and low IQ plays that would make them liabilities in extended time on the court, I do like how the depth is shaking out for this class.

Pretty good analysis number wise and its true that this is an early projection! I often find myself in the middle of the road of whether we need 5* recruits vs a 2*. Five stars may add short term valve, one - two years and then off to the NBA but they can also disrupt the team chemistry, (ball hogging, fighting for minutes and overall bad leadership). With the 4*'s and below we build our team core of hungry kids wanting to prove their worth, at least that's the way it should be in the grand skim of it all. So I only look at the 5*'s as a metering stick as to what the staff are doing on the recruiting trail. As of late we've all seen a lot of the Kentucky 5* teams fall flat and never make it very far in the tournament.

So I only look at the 5*'s as a metering stick as to what the staff are doing on the recruiting trail. As of late we've all seen a lot of the Kentucky 5* teams fall flat and never make it very far in the tournament. Agree that we don't necessarily need a parade of 5* to be competitive, but I don't think 2* is ever something we should target. We need talented guys to push to get into the rotation and to make teammates better in practice. Hoping that some of the unranked kids we got last cycle can provide some meaningful contributions at some point during their careers here, but it is not a recipe for long term success. We should be living in the 50-100 range (4*). Think this class has potential now to get us back to being consistently competitive in that range, but we are going to need to exceed on-court expectations in '20-'21 to really get some significant recruiting momentum back. The '21 class appears to have the potential to help down the road, but the ship hasn't been fully righted just yet. It's really on this year's squad (assuming there is a season) and the staff to make a legitimate push for an NIT bid and be competitive in the conference to convince our prioritized 4*s that this is a good place to be moving forward. If Jalin works hard these next 12-14 months, there will be a lot of PT waiting for him. Hope he capitalizes on that opportunity.

Love the way PE & this staff have just rolled up their collective sleeves and went to work on the trail. It would have been easy with all of the negativity surrounding the program these past 10 months to believe all pundits who said we were done. But this is what happens when your hard work starts to pay off.
Like I said in the Holloway thread, it's going to take a grassroots kind of mentality to get the program back on track. You can see from the 2020 class, to how this 2021 class is shaping up that we're slowly building back to that Big East monster. Another domino falls in this class and how quickly will the narrative change regarding Georgetown basketball in just the span of a few months.
Welcome to the Hilltop Mr. Billingsley. Can't wait to see you doin' work in the blue and grey. Hoya Saxa!

This video below he participated in in which is game is dissected has been one that stood out to me. This is because throughout its runtime he readily recognizes what he did wrong without any deflection. Shows a certain level of awareness and maturity.

I honestly think a fair comp based on potential and similarities in their games is Saddiq Bey...
