The program is in need of a renaissance. Patrick is busy reviving the program he made famous. I canβt wait to see the finished product. Busy, yes, but this is an extended hot stove league where, absent some actual play, we are relying on video highlights and hopes for a better tomorrow. Until these kids play together, we don't know if there is a team that can play Ewing's style of basketball or merely a collection of individual talent much like St. John's throws together every year. That's the case nearly everywhere except for Duke. It could be that way at Kentucky but Calipari is a self-promoting ass that chooses to get as many top 10 guys, regardless of fit, because, with or without him, they'll get drafted. Somehow, he's snowed enough people that that, apparently, reflects well on him. That's a different discussion. In any case, in 99% of the rest of the programs, the "hot stove" reference applies. It's neither specific to the Hoyas nor to this year. Talent is great. Fit is nearly equally important. Usually, when a program is rebuilding, they shoot for the first one because getting both is REALLY difficult. We are at the point where you take the best talent and work on/hope for the fit. Getting guys like Jordan in the door, hopefully, begins to change that position and narrative.

Don't you know DFW has an algorithm in place to automatically queue up the sad trombone after any optimistic news or posts?

Don't you know DFW has an algorithm in place to automatically queue up the sad trombone after any optimistic news or posts? Until we see him (and others) play, it's hard to determine where a player fits into the lineup. Let him enjoy high school before the expectations game takes over.

This young man and his family understand. He could be the key to turning our recruitment around. I may have found my new favorite Hoya and yes, I understand he hasn't laced them up yet for the Blue and Gray.

Greatness comes in many forms. Believing firmly in your ability to contribute to winning is a large element for many who are great. I like seeing that in Jordan, and naturally am really excited about his desire to bring other great players with him to add to the talented group that we are gathering.
DFW, as always I see your points, but I also admit my hopes are growing for a new direction of the program going forward. Go Hoyas!!!

And It's good to see you posting with some consistency. MEGAFAN mentioned he is hoping to see you in person again. Me too. This virus can't last forever. There will be games again sometime. Hope you are doing well.

If that comp isn't a reason to start getting amped, I'm not sure what is. Loved Trawick's want-to and competitiveness. I'm hoping that that attitude is something the rest of the team adopts. We have some guys that are really competitive. But, as far as I can tell, not on the level of a Trawick-type.

Because he was a good player who played extremely hard, never backed down, and seemed to get the most out of his talent. A lot of fans want guys like Trawick who not only want to win the game, but also seem like they would jump in front of a train to do so. We need more guys like him. I would take a Trawick in every recruiting class.

In the 2015 NCAA tournament loss to Utah - we were playing well until Trawick got hurt and had to sit out the rest of the game. That's when Utah took over the game. There were definitely a number of players on that team more talented than Trawick, but he was the leader and competitive heart of our last good team. We have not had a player quite like him in terms of competitive leadership since then, and we have not had a good team since then. Winning teams need to have this kind of leadership. I think this is the reason that many fans are so enthusiastic about Trawick's Georgetown career.

When basketball is back on I will definitely be there in person and it will be great to see you, Mega and all the Hoya faithful! I am very well and hope you are too. Thanks again. Hoya Saxa!

Just look at any roster that ever did anything at Georgetown....they all had scrappy guys...from Gene Smith and Michael Graham, to guys like Jerome Williams, to more recently guys like PE2. All our best teams always had a dog.

You can't control that many abrasive personalities on one team... also could you imagine 3 or 4 Brillys in practice. We would have 3 to 4 players out each game...lol
