and Hoyaboya permanently eliminates himself from any future credible takes. Got that fixed.

In mid-January, Riley moved up to #118 overall in the 24/7 composite rankings. Was #144 same time last year.
Still a 3-star. Top 115 are 4-stars.

I think I saw people say he plays in a conference that is not the greatest so he should be significantly higher? I think he’ll be electric for us on offense and defense.

For a minute he was the highest recruit in this class. Haven't seen him play but it sounds like he has the goods and will just need to keep refining the skills.

Buddy of mine that’s plugged into NY hoops said Riley was one of the best high school hoopers he had ever seen in person. Was very upset he ended up at Gtown (Cuse fan).

His league is solid as far as public school leagues go, but most of the talent these days gets funneled to private schools. Certainly much better competition than Mac's SW VA league. However if he had transferred to Long Island Lutheran and played with Andre Curbelo and Zed Key, and beaten Sierra Canyon on national tv last season, his ranking would unequivocally be much higher. I also believe he'd also be much higher ranked if he'd gotten the opportunity to play with New York Lightning in the EYBL this past summer. I think he's a top 50 player in the class. I'd take him every time over Jordan Hawkins from DeMatha, a SG going to UConn who 247 has ranked #49.

Whether he starts or not, Jordan Riley is going to see significant minutes for our team next year. I am more excited about Jordan than I was about Mac (and I was very excited about Mac), and I expect Jordan to have more of an impact than Mac did as a frosh (which was solid).

He's going to put up huge numbers. The competition he's facing will be ridiculously weak on most nights.

I know the competition isn't the toughest (familiar with the area), but it's undoubtedly tougher than what Mac had to face, and 42 points against anyone (even when Mac did it against the elementary school kids) is still 42 points. I have very high expectations for this kid.

I am hopeful that with all the spotlight now on Aminu that we've overlooked how good a player Jordan might be for us. Hopefully that starts next season.
I actually don't see any reason we couldn't plug him in at the 2 and reasonably expect a Charlie Harrison/Mac McClung type season. Double digit scoring, flashes of stardom, but maybe not the consistency you'd like. He's obviously not the exact same style of player (hopefully the size & physicality means better D), but I'm just thinking going from 18p & inefficient (Blair) to 10 pts & inefficient (Riley?) might not be as devastating as some people are suggesting around here.
It'll also be interesting to see (to me, at least) how our top 3 '21 kids handle the change from "big fish" to just "fish" (or maybe just "less big fish" in Aminu's case). Aminu, Jordan, and Ryan will all have been the best player on their team/league for the better part of 2 or 3 seasons by the time they reach the Hilltop. Contrast that to guys like Beard or Sibley, who played with & against a lot of top talent.
Not trying to suggest anything -- just think it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I had heard that he had not really become a good three point shooter yet, but from the highlights (and I realize these are only highlights) he looks to have supreme confidence in his 3 point shot and really deep range. Not sure what kind of percentage he shots from 3, but he certainly looked good on that tape from 3.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if both Jordan and Aminu were ready to make impacts next year? That would be exciting to watch.
