I love it. Looks like Coach is recruiting 4 year kids, and more importantly, kids who are grounded and great kids first and athletes second. We all saw first hand how recruiting great athletes first, kids second worked. It’s much more easy to teach good kids basketball skills then it is to teach good player but Editedbag kids life skills! Welcome to the family Collin!

Exactly! I want Coach Ewing to recruit kids that want to be here. Coach should be able to coach them up. For those kids that are vacilating back and forth, we need to give them a litle bit of time to make up their minds of whether or not they want to be at Georgetown. At some point you have got to move on and recruit kids that want to play for Coach Ewing.

Not going to knock a kid who wants to come here. And if he signed before Harris or Berger they’d be the ones getting the scrutiny and not him. That being said, if I can comment on our recruiting strategy for a minute, I don’t see another team in the BE signing 5 unranked kids over the last two years. Rankings aren’t everything but they aren’t nothing either. Also I’d prefer not to lock up a 4 year scholarship at this point, and class balance is pretty poor as it stands now. But I digress. Regardless of everything I just said, welcome Collin and congrats on your decision to come to Georgetown! It’s nothing wrong with bringing in diamonds in rough recruits but when you have maybe 3 in one class that’s tough but good luck youngin

Maybe we should change our name from the Hoyas to the SRD's.

Congrats to the young man. A great achievement in his life. However I’m baffled why the program has picked him up unless he’s a walk on.

I'm all for picking up under the radar recruits, but having seven freshman (including Wilson) seems like a recipe for future playing time based transfers... Edit: Or maybe one of these guys will wind up redshirting Have to think at least one or two of them will redshirt. It's hard for me to see a scenario where Dante Harris, Beard and Berger are all going to play unless something crazy happens to Jalen Harris or Blair. It's hard for me to see a scenario where Sibley, Clark and Holloway are all going to play regularly unless something happens to Bile or Pickett. And hard for me to see a scenario where Q, Iggy and Wilson all play regularly, although redshirting may not be an option there. I think the only question is whether the staff can determine who should play and who should sit based off practice alone (and thus make redshirt decisions), or if they're going to try to get everyone some playing time in the non-conference and then shrink the rotation later in the year without regard for eligibility. The latter is possible, but the way they handled Wilson last year makes me think that they may try to go the redshirt route for one or two of the freshmen. I always enjoy the redshirt debate/suggestions. People, we almost never redshirt players even when it makes a ton of sense. And yet it is always brought up on this board and debated. The default assumption should be that none of the incoming kids will redshirt. That’s the program’s history.

PE is setting a precedents in one sense, if you wanna play for Georgetown come play, if you wanna think about it don't think to long I'll find someone with twice the heart and he'll take your scholarship. PE always said he wants to get back to when kids "WANTED TO PLAY FOR GEORGETOWN."

Is he ambidextrous? Seems to drive to his left a lot but right-handed shot.

Here is the quote from Darrel Owens on FB "I think his film is a little misleading. I played him last week and I can tell u guys he will be a bull. I’ve been following him all four years of highschool and thought highly of him. His highschool coach and cousin is a good friend of mine. He’s strong as an ox and he can dunk on anybody at anytime. I’m glad he’s in the family. He’s a great kid also." More from Darrel Owens: “he switched schools his senior year so he basically went unnoticed being at catholic highschool in Baton Rouge. Also bounced around AAU teams that didn’t have his best interest. I noticed he turned the corner summer of his sophomore year and basically dominated the state this year with a state title to finish it off and MVP. The fans should chill. What has bringing in major talented kids got us the last couple of years besides headaches. This kid is pretty good and can definitely play on this level.” “also if the staff could bring in 4 five ⭐️ kids they would just like every other major school. Unfortunately we still have to develop and win to attract those kids at the present time. We don’t pay kids remember? It takes time to get back. It’s an oven not a microwaveable process.” Another comment from Owens: "they were praying no one else saw him. Trust me he can go"

I trust him...I like the kid, and in the opening state final video, he's introduced as 6'7...I like that at 220-225 lbs with his rebounding strength, he can get some minutes at the 4, but with his ball handling and shooting form and range he is developing more as a 3 man...so he's versatile...the main thing I see with this class is that there's great versatility among several players, along with high basketball IQ, and kids who are hungry to prove themselves and who are really happy to be coming to G'Town and playing for Coach Ewing and his staff...work needs to be done, but that's a very good formula for developing a strong team going forward...

I saw him play a couple times for Pro Skills in EYBL. He looked and played like an udersized 4 last summer. Shot and handle must have got a lot better based on the HL video but would have to see how he looks in an actual game to be sure.

Level of competition seems low, looks like he’s one of the biggest kids on the floor in those highlights at 6-6. So I don’t think we’ll know how good he is till he plays Kenner or big east level comp.
Like the reverse layup, seems fundamentally sounds, with more athleticism than Reggie Cameron.
His steal numbers standout at 2.1 per game. That’s an elite number for steals.

We brought in another freshman. He is essentially what Kobe Clark is. We could have used a grad transfer or Juco kid here that was a power forward. That was the last scholarship. Too many freshman on this roster. Doesn’t look good for next year.
Somebody needs to redshirt. 13 guys won’t see meaningful mins next year.

PE seems like he is definitely taking the long view and going after off the radar, character guys with good all around games. Collin looks like a skilled player. Needs to add some more explosion to his game but if he puts in the work looks like a good addition.

Welcome to D.C. young man u will enjoy ya experience...good school lots of history . Pat lets get kids like this that want to be here thats half the battle along with some talent and heart. Get back to when the Hoyas were true bull dogs not kittens. U can't teach heart we need hard nose kids like them D.C. streets. Back in day we had Billy Martin . .Mark Tillmon , Big Mike Graham , Perry Jackson The Junkyard Dog ole boy they were no joke. ESPN should do one on the Hoyas. Hoya Paranoid that would surely help recruiting. We were the Hip School for Hip Hop kids back n the day.Coming from S.E and joining the military , I remember the late 80's and 90's being in Compton when gang bangers and regular Joe's rocked that Hoya gear Caps etc ...we were way hip before the 5 Fab lets get back folks by grinding being hard nosed on defense like in the past and 5 stars and 4 stars will being dying to be apart of Pat Ewings new history. Trust me Pat will be the new John Jr his way and people will grow to understand why those guys transferred n time. Why to set a new standard. I like it disciple first it carries over to real life when you get a real job everybody wont make the pro's...thats a FACT young people. Hit those books it will take u places when the ball is flat ...I'm out like last year

Collin best of luck. Get a great education. Be a great student & teammate. Work hard to prove yourself. This board wants Georgetown to be like it once was GREAT! Maybe you can help make that happen. You have 4-5 years ahead. Make the most of them!

If I start looking at a future (2021-22+) nucleus of say Beard + Holloway + Clark + Sibley + Qudus, I think I start to see a big, versatile, high basketball IQ team that sounds interesting on first analysis.
