Congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Holloway. I hope to see him on the court, along with twelve of his teammates at various times, next year.

In addition to Greg, D.J. Owens also likes him. On FB, he said the film was a bit misleading, that Holloway will be a "bull." DJ said he was "strong as an ox," and a good kid too.
Welcome Mr. Holloway.

Here is the quote from Darrel Owens on FB
"I think his film is a little misleading. I played him last week and I can tell u guys he will be a bull. I’ve been following him all four years of highschool and thought highly of him. His highschool coach and cousin is a good friend of mine. He’s strong as an ox and he can dunk on anybody at anytime. I’m glad he’s in the family. He’s a great kid also."

I get the strong part but I'm watching the highlights and am very skeptical on "the dunk on anybody at anytime" part.

Looks like a solid player. Some of the videos posted here are from 2017 so take those with a grain of salt. Ones from State Championship game a few months ago looks good.

It’s a valid question. We’ve really got to stop trying to police every comment or question on this board. How about we show a little class? Or do you go to dinner parties and talk about how ugly the hostess is? This is one of the biggest days in this young man's life. You can bet his friends and family wants to know what we think. How about we not act like asses? I think this kid could be a contributor to our team. Anyone can be a contributor ... it appears we are recruiting a team of “under-the-radar” guys. Unfortunately you need a few near-guarantees. This is the state of Georgetown BB. Wish him success.

Also bounced around AAU teams that didn’t have his best interest. I noticed he turned the corner summer of his sophomore year and basically dominated the state this year with a state title to finish it off and MVP. The fans should chill. What has bringing in major talented kids got us the last couple of years besides headaches. This kid is pretty good and can definitely play on this level.” “also if the staff could bring in 4 five ⭐️ kids they would just like every other major school. Unfortunately we still have to develop and win to attract those kids at the present time. We don’t pay kids remember? It takes time to get back. It’s an oven not a microwaveable process.”

Looks like a solid player. Some of the videos posted here are from 2017 so take those with a grain of salt. Ones from State Championship game a few months ago looks good. From the most current video - he looks like his playing style has some similarities to Terrance Williams. Not nearly the same level of competition or skill on Holloway's part. but in general - he's a solidly built 6'6 forward who at least flashes some outside shooting ability. Not highly explosive, but looks to have a pretty good skill level. The bottom line is: nobody knows if any of these guys we are bringing in will end up being good college players. All of them have some strengths, but none are obvious high level talents. We'll just need to cross our fingers and hope that a couple of them are ready to play from the start, and that a few more can develop into solid Big East players over time.

Welcome to the blue and gray Mr. Holloway. You have the opportunity to contribute to rebuilding the program. Ignore the naysayers, they know not what they speak.
Now get to work!🏀

We are a complete team, every position has a backup and everyone has someone to lean on in practice and grow with.

I trust DJ's eye for talent (i.e. Leblanc), but I have to assume this commitment doesn't happen unless we were basically already told by Cisse and Carey that we're out of the running for them, which is entirely possible.
Again, this puts more of an onus on the staff to develop and improve players once they've arrived on campus to a degree that they haven't been able to yet. They are going to have to get these newcomers to grow up fast if we are going to be anywhere near remotely competitive next season.
