RIP. Was at some of the games at the Cap Center for the 1978 Championship in which he was named MVP. Believe it or not, Abe Pollin hired the GU Pep Band to play on the concourse for some of the games.

He was a tremendous player--remember him unfortunately getting the better of the Knicks many times when I was in elementary school. Unbelievable rebounder.

He was a tremendous player--remember him unfortunately getting the better of the Knicks many times when I was in elementary school. Unbelievable rebounder. His career numbers at Louisville: 20.6 ppg, 18.9 rpg. At 6-7.

So sad. I remember seeing him at Mason-Dixon basketball camp in 1993:
"When the whole team boxes out correctly, there should be times when the ball hits the ground."
I always remembered that advice- go find an opponent and pin him, and then try to find the ball.
RIP

When I was eleven years old, Wes came to my summer camp to provide instruction. He was the biggest human being I had seen up until that point. Charles Barkley like player. By the way, my counselor that summer was none other than Fran Fraschilla.

My favorite player who I tried to emulate. Sad to see him no longer with us.

The two hand overhead outlet pass was a thing of beauty.

Terrific player with a huge heart. He and the Big E made one tough pair.
