As time passes and more members of the 2021 Rivals150 come off the board, the interest in Patrick Baldwin Jr. has continued to intensify. Ranked No. 1 nationally, the 6-foot-10 forward at Sussex (Wis.) Hamilton is a highly skilled forward, armed with an elite jump shot who is down to Duke, Georgetown, Kentucky, Michigan, Milwaukee, North Carolina, Northwestern, UCLA, Virginia and Wisconsin. As most know, he’s got ties to Northwestern where both of his parents went to school and to Milwaukee where his father is currently the head coach. For much of his recruitment, Baldwin has been closely linked to Duke and there’s no doubt that the Blue Devils are in there deep. If he picks them, it would give them the top two prospects in the senior class and three top-10 prospects. They are certainly right near the top if they aren’t in first place. If not Duke, then the possibility that Baldwin chooses to play for his father can’t be ignored and it isn’t at all out of the realm of possibility. Kentucky, North Carolina and Northwestern are in there as well but I’d be fairly surprised if he were to pick a team other than Duke or Milwaukee. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twitter-tuesday-patrick-baldwin-d-marco-dunn-arizona

Sounds like Bossi might know we're no longer involved given that we were specifically excluded.

Being involved here seems pretty absurd. (I don't know what our actual level is.)
I'm not a "don't shoot for the 5-star kids" guy, but the odds of him choosing anyone other than Duke, Milw, or even NW seem astronomical at this point.
And even then, it'd be a race between us, UNC, UK, Mich, UCLA, UVA, and Wisconsin. Good luck Hoyas!

I'm not saying Baldwin is coming but Ewing seems to connect with some kids. I assume Baldwin's father played for NW so just maybe he taught his son the real truth. In one year K, Calicheat or Roy aren't teaching you anything. Literally every 1nD K had but Zion played below there abilities that 1 year.... it's really hard to go from option 1 your entire life to being part of a team concept....

At least the word Georgetown appears in the article/ interview.

Baldwin seems to have SOME affinity for Georgetown. He's mentioned them in many interviews, and it's been rumored about a strong relationship personally with Louis Orr. This particular interview Georgetown was barely mentioned by the interviewer, so I wouldn't read too much into him not saying much about them. Could've been worse, he basically said he won't be attending Wisconsin and didn't sound too enthused about Northwestern (despite strong family ties). And you'd think if he was hell bent on going to Duke, he would've committed by now. I have a gut feeling Georgetown is a dark horse candidate here, especially if for some reason G'Town doesn't feel like they'll land Aminu. If you want to be different, why not choose Georgetown and be influential in restoring a great legacy program back to stardom. There is also talent coming in for 2021, it's not like he'd be wasting himself by being surrounded with nothing.

Unclear whether "trust me bro" means Baldwin Jr. is the source or that he's making fun of the other tweet

Since the Holmgren thread has been revived, probably should bump this one too.
Any updates post-Aminu commitment?

Not that I thought we were still in it (see my prev posts ^^^), but Milwaukee just got 6 crystal balls in the last 48 hours for Baldwin.
If that happens... good for him. Kids with his talent are gonna make it either way. Might as well keep it safe & local, help out dad, and bring some big news to an otherwise minor squad.
And of course that would mean no Duke. [sad trombone noise] The Jalen Johnson departure seems to have the Duke writers convinced.
Not gonna cry for Duke & their 8 (possible) returning top 100 guys or the other two 5-stars they're bringing in...

I love this selection for this kid. If I was one & done prospect, I don't see the logic going to Kentucky, Duke and other squads filled with similar guys. Not because of the competition, but because its a bunch of me first attitudes trying to show out. You couple that with very young rosters and your chance at tourney success is slim.

Most interesting... Not sure what inside info he has, but would be awesome if true. Hoyas would have a top 5 national class, and we would be pre-season top-25 for sure. That being said, still not sure where the scholarships are coming from considering we are already at -1 available.
