I'm happy the old man cashed out on And1 before the home page featured this little gem:

I like this signing. Seems clear that in the wake of last fall's complete mess the staff and university are taking long, hard looks at how players fit in the program and into the university culture. I'm all for it - and I'm looking forward to seeing this class develop.

I would love to know which assistant pulled a kid who committed to his parent's school over to us - and what made him jump. One would think that Berger recognizes that the level of competition in the Big East exceeds that of the Ivies. IMHO, he wants to test himself against better competition which is a positive.

For you folks stuck on this "A level athlete" point of view, was Stephen Curry an A level athlete coming out of HS...how about Larry Bird?...I could go on, but you get my drift...this kid can play the game of basketball very well, and shoot the lights out along the way...glad he's aboard... Exactly. And what is an "A" level athlete? If it means he can take a quarter off the top of the backboard, Akinjo was certainly not that guy. I don't think you need to jump through the roof to break a press or run an offense, and certainly not to make 3s.

That was quite the refreshing thread by fans that aren't afraid to not be overly optimistic. There were critical points made and they didn't get attack or go told to root for someone else. What a concept! I would love to know which assistant pulled a kid who committed to his parent's school over to us - and what made him jump. Likely because his dad is smart and realizes his kid can get a similar education for free.

He is out here recruiting like he already signed an extension. The 21 class is going to be important. For us to get back to a consistent top BE level this class will mostly be recruited over by players that probably aren't as good of culture fits. This would have been a great type of class to bring in last year assuming no implosion. What next year and future years need is different that what we thought we needed last year.

OTOH, I didn't see a lot of sly digs and negativity towards Penn's coaching staff. Maybe it's that kind of stuff that elicits go root for somebody else, not respectful player evaluation that is submitted without rose-colored glasses

Knows how to play. Check Can play. Check Knows the game. Check Can shoot. Check Change of dribble. Check Ball movement. Check Reports to be solid person. Check Fill as shooting guard. Check Aid to help in reducing turnovers Check (should be) Can shoot (just for emphasis) Check Not intimidated by other talent Check Seems to fit coaches wanting to uptempo the game Check
Seen here as a very good asset to the team.
Also like the previous comments referring to the athleticism of SCurry. All the references by many of what he can't do and what he can't be before he did and became. This is not saying he is a SCurry, putting this out there before the you know whos get started.

If I was a Penn fan I would be happy to bring in a player like TJ. Penn fans acknowledged he was a solid recruit while pointing out his deficiencies, but they also needed better ones to fill the class. TJ is a fine player who could turn out to be a contributor later in his career. I will be rooting for him. Hopefully he helps us attract other players as well which is not a asset many other players have. Penn has also made a tournament since we have so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
