That changes everything if we get Terrell and Jagan for one more year.

ACC has announced it's members will not participate in NCAA tournaments. So that's it.

ACC has announced it's members will not participate in NCAA tournaments. So that's it. Since Duke already announced that they weren't going, isn't this redundant?

I'm going to keep updating the first post in this thread until the NCAA does the right thing and cancels this season's tournament...which may well be within the next two or three hours. Nailed it. Thanks, YaBoy, for being quicker to the post!

I don't see any suggestion that it would only apply to teams that were still alive in conference tourneys. It won't happen anyway. They would either have to expand scholarship limits to allow committed recruits to be added,or void LOI'S and other commitments, which would in turn be unfair to kids who have committed and expect to play at the school of their choice in the Fall. Not to mention that seniors have played 75% or more of the season already. It would certainly require an expansion of scholarships available to schools. But this issue certainly extends beyond basketball to all of the spring sports that just started their seasons.

I think Terrell and Jagan have a good case for waivers given everything that has happened to us on top of Corona

Here's a huge reason as to why they had to cancel. Also, this event was played in DC. At the new G-League arena. So, stay safe.

Welp it would have sucked if we were really good this year and couldn’t enjoy it. Stinks for all the student athletes.

If this comes about then our season and prospects have greatly increased. The real question will be what this means for scholarship situations in practice. For us, we have the room to bring back all of our SRs. I assume TA and JM would definitely return. Yurt, we will see.

This really should be for spring sports only. While unfortunate, basketball has largely concluded and the seniors played a full season. Put another way, almost 270 schools (incl. Georgetown) had already ended the season before the hammer fell. And then what if football coaches ask for an extra year? Does Tua and Joe Burrow get a do-over as well? There is precedent, however. After the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic, Georgetown players were given a fifth year of eligibility by the school, which led to lots of basketball players playing from 1918-1923 (where GU won 52 straight at home). I could not determine if this was GU policy or the NCAA, since the NCAA was a very loose organization at this point.

I don’t want any of the BE seniors back. Powell, Howard, Baldwin et al. owned us throughout their careers. I’m happy to see them out the door. Let’s see how those teams manage without them.
