Does anyone have or know where to find the practice/shoot around schedule for the BET? I'm curious to see who is on the court during the session. I'd think we had one yesterday at some point?

GAMEDAY!!!!
No matter what happens tonight, no matter if this is our last game or if we have 9 more games, no matter what the rest of the BE does in the post season: I am proud of what our guys have done this year. Do I wish we would have won every game? Of course! But they've fought, they've stuck together, they've played with passion, and have represented the Hoya jersey well. Has Pat's coaching been perfect? No way! But he circled the wagons, kept this team together, and kept them believing! I'm excited to be wearing my Hoya Blue and Gray to work yet again and to look forward to tip off. These guys have embodied the Hoya spirit and I hope they continue going forward (on and off the court).
Now to the game, we truly do have a great opportunity here. We've squandered some of those in the past but at least we get another shot. The guys should be playing free and with house money, at this point we will be the underdog tonight and any future nights we may get. Leave it all on the court, especially those who won't be back next year. Share the ball but take good shots when they present themselves. I haven't seen any news on either Yurt or Mac but I hope we get both back. Yurt is an asset no matter how disappointed some posters might be that he's not an AA/lottery pick. While Mac does good and bad, at this point in the year we need his scoring. Just need him to play within the team, not as a one man shooter. Crash the boards!! If we are to go anywhere, we need to take advantage of the size we do have and dominate the boards against teams that are smaller (like SJ, Creighton, Nova). No matter what, play for fun, play loose, and enjoy your teammates!!
GO HOYAS!!!

I don't want Mac back. His game hurts more when rusty than it helps. I'd rather not have a 70-85% Mac taking and missing contested shots....and I'm a Mac fan...

The biggest plus from having Mac back would be getting a few minutes of rest for the starters, which would become more critical for each round if we can move on. But he would have to concentrate on moving the ball and taking good shots. But I don't expect to see him tonight.

But playing 4 games in 4 nights w/ 5 regulars is pretty unimaginable. Sadly (luckily?) we'll only be playing 1 or 2. But whatever... Let's win this!!

In my wildest dreams I never thought either, let alone both would miss this much time. Neither injury looked that bad in person. Powell’s preseason ankle sprain and McKnights twisted knee looked far worse and they missed I think 1-2 games combined? I guess file this in the looks can be deceiving category as I don’t want to question either’s pain threshold or desire to play through injury.

A little guard putting all his weight on one ankle is bad but a big center will in most cases do more damage.

Well, we never saw Mac’s injury and the second Omer hurt his ankle I thought he was likely done for the season. Rewatch it, his lower leg bent a fairly full 90 degrees....bones aren’t supposed to bend like that, let alone all the other ligaments and tissue in there.

Athletes have played blind, with migraines, with freshly broken legs, arms, noses, etc. One, it takes nothing to dress so that doesn’t tell us where his injury was. And he played, but clearly hurt it and who knows what he had to do to play (most high-level athletes have access to things that can help mask pain). Clearly he’s not healthy enough to play. Not to mention depending on the coach there’s a practice requirement before being cleared for games again - who knows if those happened or whether he reinsured himself if so. Also, as an injured athlete sometimes you can try to go on game days and rely on adrenaline to carry you through and at the same time not be able to practice. There is a very broad schedule.

It was just a broader point the initial injuries or subsequent ones didn’t appear to be as long lasting as they have been. Not knocking either guy. My point was that we’ve seen worse looking injuries result in less time off. Just par for the course this year though.
