One game at a time, but looks like Zegarowski will miss the BET.
A St. John's team we've beaten twice (though with Yurt both times) and a weakened Creighton team is about as good a draw as we could hope for.
One positive could be that the guys have played 3 games at MSG already this year, and 2 on back-to-back nights (although obviously much different with 11 guys then). Just like the preseason tournament, I wanted to beat Texas so much just to get into the game with Duke. Likewise here, as if we can find a way to beat a hot St. John's, then I say let's play with house money against a shorthanded Creighton.

If one of mac/y7 can go, it greatly increases our chances. One thing i won't doubt is them not playing hard! Let's pull out a stunner.

Team hasn't won back to back games without a week off in between games since UMBC and Samford (Dec. 17/21). Whether or not that's a stamina issue due to being shorthanded or an inability to correctly/properly prepare for another opponent after a quick turnaround is up for debate, but I would imagine it's some combination of the two. The BET is not kind to teams who aren't good in these areas.
Agree with the decision to go all out with the starters on Saturday in a winnable game that went down to the wire, but Ewing's going to have to use the bench considerably more on Wed. night if the goal is to remain fresh enough to have any chance of winning 2 games, especially on 14-15 hours of rest. Going to need about 30 minutes combined minimum from Jaden, George, and Timmy. If they can keep their heads and not turn the ball over, I think against a SJU you can actually leave them out there and they can hold their own. Hope they are ready for it.

Ivy League tournament cancelled:
I know the articles thread has the Big East statement from yesterday saying that the BET is still proceeding as normal. Just something to keep an eye on.

Interesting facts about Zegarowski:
Has a twin brother Max, a brother Michael Carter-Williams and a sister Masey Zegarowski. Michael Carter-Williams competed for two seasons in the BIG EAST at Syracuse (2011-13) and enters his eighth year in the NBA this winter as a member of the Orlando Magic, while Masey plays basketball at Bryant.

That's playing a role at a lot of schools, notwithstanding that they don't want lawsuits from litigious helicopter parents that someone wandered on campus and infected their kids. By contrast, the risk of lawsuit is not the same at a public facility, where you enter and attend at your own risk.

Any word on yurt or Mac?
Extra bodies would help - but the guys are very used to playing without them. And they will be rusty as hell

Right. So if Yurt does play, his minutes will be limited and yes he will be rusty. So do we work through him despite the rust to try to get some production? Do we use him as more of a decoy/distributor(not necessarily his strong suit)? Do we just hope for a few rebounds, a couple of putbacks, cutting down Qudus's minutes?

It depends on how he looks/feels. I don't think this is something that can be answered before the game, but rather one that you have to observe during the game.

Honest question, when is the last time we won a game in the BE tournament?

Honest question, when is the last time we won a game in the BE tournament? Hoyas beat DePaul in the 8/9 game in 2016.
