Love this plan! I'd be OK with only trading Providence's Ed Cooley to the A-10, not the whole university!

Moderator Note: I moved the most recent BE transfers / going pro posts and all the Shaka Smart posts here into the BE 21-22 Discussion thread since they are really about next season.

Men's College Basketball Season in Review: Big East, by Elizabeth Swinton, Sports Illustrated " Best game: Georgetown vs. Creighton in the Big East championshipThe Big East’s best game of the season was its last as No. 8 seed Georgetown pulled off the upset of No. 2 seed Creighton and won the Big East championship trophy, becoming the first No. 8 seed to win the Big East tournament and the lowest since No. 9 seed UConn in 2011. Georgetown blew out the Blue Jays, 73–48, while holding Creighton to 29% shooting in Patrick Ewing’s old home of Madison Square Garden. The Hoyas led by as many as 31 points as freshman point guard Dante Harris won tournament MVP." www.si.com/college/2021/04/23/big-east-review-uconn-georgetown-villanova

That was a game only a Georgetown fan could enjoy.

You almost have to look at that game alongside our overall improbable run. We did stun them though, especially Creighton in the final.

How does DePaul fail to grab Shaka Smart over Marquette? Marquette is a way better program. Fans go to their games. They spend way more money on basketball than Depaul. And Shaka is from Wisconsin.

You almost have to look at that game alongside our overall improbable run. We did stun them though, especially Creighton in the final. The BET championship game was watched by alot of fans, from different schools around the country. The combination of Coach Ewing back at MSG and making a run (and the media support behind that, especially from ESPN), "is Georgetown back?" along with watered downed ACC, Big 12, Big 10 tournaments due to COVID suspensions/pull outs made the BET championship the much watch game of the weekend. Everyone (neutrals) was rooting for Georgetown so it didn't matter that it was a blowout.

Say what you will about McDermott, but he has an eye for talent.
