The more I see and read about Murray the more I like him. To be honest, I like him over some of the other 2020 kids we've been mentioned with, at least based on highlight packages. Not sure if there's anything I'm missing. His teammate, Justin Lewis, is a 4 star guy who is headed to Marquette next year, so it's hard to understand why Murray has been overlooked. Maybe he is just a prototype "late bloomer."
Given his offer list I feel like if Patrick walked into the gym it would cause a stir and certainly be noticed, and we might be able to seal the deal relatively easily. I hope they will at least check in on him given that he plays <90 minutes away.

Reminds me a bit of Austin Freeman, with a bit more bounce.

Yes, very solidly built players. Reminds me a little of the kids from Nova a few years ago, Kris Jenkins. Not super athletic, but strong and can really shoot the ball. Interesting prospect. Odd he does not have more offers with the big numbers he is putting up. Every team needs shooters these days

This kid is deceptively athletic. See him dunk effortlessly with two hands without much of a running start.

If he is interested, he compliments what we already have quite well

Unless there are red flags that we aren't aware of, I agree that we should be on this guy fast. He has the frame to play college ball from day 1 and provides outside shooting and a scoring punch. Those attributes will be needed immediately next year.

This Austin Freeman talk reminds me to ask: how’s his defense?

You mean there's a place in Baltimore that's 90 minutes away from DC? Say it ain't so! It's less than an hour at the most!!

Ok, but... 1) Our top target in the class was RJ Davis who can't dunk and is a great shooter. 2) Harris isn't a high flyer and is known for his shooting ability. 3) There's not a lot of great shooters who are hm players to begin with. There are even less at this stage in the game. 4) Our last PG (Akinjo) wasn't dunking on anybody. 5) You can teach a kid to shoot. It's the one skill that's somewhat easy to improve. You can't teach them how to be long and athletic. The one consistent thing about Pat's recruiting seems to be he likes players to have a little bit of dog in them. There have been a couple exceptions to this, but not many. 1. The PGs have been the only non athletic shooters. They have also been tiny. The have also been scorers before passers which is fine. That said I still can't believe we asked our best shooter to create and pass to non shooters and wondered why it didn't work. 2. You just wanted to get me riled up about Harris again didn't you 3. This is false. There are plenty. I will agree that in the range we are winning in you have to choose athleticism or shooter. Pat has clearly made his choice. 4. see #1 5. Sure you can teach anyone to do anything but shooters shoot and dunkers dunk. As you know its a mindset. The more athletic usually have more dog than the skill guys, so that is probably right. The problem is the guys we are left with are the more bark than bite. The bite has left the building.

Trolling isn't necessary, but he has a point. We need shooters desperately, and as far as I have seen we are only going after athletic wings in 2020. I think this kid could be a great option for this class, but given that there's nothing to suggest we're even involved here probably not going to happen. No he doesn’t have a point because he’s not really making a point. Clearly just taking yet another opportunity to take a shot at Mac for no reason. Uh oh the natives are getting restless!!! This wasn't even a Mac thing. It was a Pat thing although Mac fits into the Pat mold certainly.

Neither one are dunking on anybody and both are skilled players. Regarding #3. Who are the Freshman 3pt shooters lighting it up from 3 right now? There are 6 total in the top 100 statistically. Only 2 are playing at a HM school, Landers Nolley, and Spencer Jones at Stanford.
