I guess I mostly see him against us - and he has TORCHED us. The Big East tourney game last year gave me my latest case of Hoya Hoops PTSD. Still think they have the pieces to make a run He torches us a lot and was special last night that’s for sure but struggles vs the good teams. If you look at their advanced numbers he’s the worst starter on the team. They definitely have a lot of good pieces. If he realizes he’s off and becomes a creator like he did in the first game vs us they can surely make a run. I’m not sure he has that in him for a couple game stretch. Will be interesting to see it play out. Not surprisingly they actually played better when he was out with an injury. Am I noticing a trend here 🤔 McKnight is actually far more valuable to them. If he hadn't played this would've been an easy win.

Your saying Myles Powell is less valuable to Seton Hall than Quincy McKnight? As that would be the new dumbest thing I have read on this website. You'd be #1 and #2 in the last day. Also, the point that literally every single poster has made would be proven 100% true when you take something not relating to Mac and made it about him for the sole reason that you don't like the player for no logical reason.

Will be interesting to see it play out. 37 against Michigan State on 27 shots, 29 against Butler on 23 shots, 32 against Oregon on 25 shots I wouldn't consider any of those struggling in any way shape or form. In fact, he played pretty well in those games. Comparing that to a game where you admitted he did very well, tonight he had 34 points on 24 shots in which of these three did he struggle in? He started slow against Rutgers, but got hurt and he wasn't great the first time vs the Hoyas or vs Xavier in their most recent loss, but he's not struggling against the three best teams they have played. Also, if Powell is the leader in win shares and win shares per 40 minutes, along with leading in offensive box score plus minus and second in total box score plus minus, how does that make him the worst starter on their team? He's not a great defender by any means, but which advanced metrics say he's the worst starter? I couldn't find any aside from defensive box score Plus Minus.

Yes. You can score 30 and have a bad game. Score 0 and have a great game. McKnight is their second best scorer while also being an elite defender and playmaker. He might not score 25 to 30 every night like Powell, but he makes his teammates better, something Powell doesn't do.

I want players who score 30 and have bad games. 😉

But, when healthy Mamu is their second best scorer. He's just getting back into the rhythm of a full season after being out for as long as he was. Also, how was Seton Hall better when Powell was out? They beat a Maryland team which isn't that good who also played terribly, continued to lose to Rutgers and beat PVAMU. With Powell they became a 9-1 team in a deadly Big East including a win @ Butler. Saying this Seton Hall team would be 9-1 in conference without Powell is absolutely ridiculous. I think they'd be safely under .500. He means so much more to their team than his 22PPG (which is a ton)

I'm just now getting to the board after last night's game, which I attended. What I saw was six guys absolutely playing their hearts out and getting exhausted (and, in Jagan's case, repeatedly mauled) against a better and much deeper team. They left it all on the floor and I'm not going to criticize them. In the end, we were done in by 11 (!) blocked shots and much better 3-point shooting by the Hall. Hoya Saxa for the incredible effort. As a pretty interesting aside, by coincidence I had a long sit-down conversation with Myles Powell's father at dinner before the game. He didn't reveal who he was until about 20 minutes had passed and it came up. He had driven three hours to the game, alone, and was driving three hours back after the game. He is a *very* nice guy, a retired railroad conductor. He ordered what I was eating (drunken noodles with chicken) because he liked the way it looked. We praised Myles's game and my wife asked him what he was going to do after the season. Mr. Powell said he hopes to get drafted and that "they wanted him to go last year" (not sure who "they" refers to) but the dad insisted he stay and get his degree. Pretty cool. In parting, I told him I hoped Myles had a great game but that Georgetown won. I got half my wish. Meanwhile, Mac was limping pretty noticeably, and our student mascot is still MIA.

Our guys fought hard to the end. Great effort against a good team with depth. Made it a game too. Proud of the guys.
Go Hoyas!

I will be happy for Myles Powell when he graduates too.

By all reports Myles Powell is a great kid. Now we know why.
