One thing is for sure....Wahab has more upside than both and knows what to do with the ball when he has it down low.

Why did anyone expect him to be different than the player he was at NC State. He chose to sit out a year when he was already a starter on a high major team. It was a bizarre decision. He wanted to go to the NBA but he's not an NBA player.

He wanted to go to the NBA but he's not an NBA player. He’s still projected to go early in the 2nd round as of the latest draft express mock.

This kid is more hard-headed than Govan, and that's a lot to say. At least Govan showed a superlative feature in his 3-pt shooting. Omer and Pat have scrapped that part of his game. I wonder what feedback he will receive from the NBA workouts and if he'll then leave school or return, go to Europe or the G-League.

He needs to learn how to finish when he's two feet away from the basket. A falling away hook shot with no arch just doesn't cut it....especially when you have a 4 inch height difference than the guy guarding you. Time to get tough Omer!! Sheesh.

The baseline shot is actually his best move. But he prefers moving away from contact to fighting through it. Not a good look for a big man you are running the offense through.

He needs to move his feet and go around his opponent. He's a back to the basket player not a face up center and its killing his chances of playing in the NBA. If he played both ways guaranteed 20-30 pt games every night.

Jessie Govan was a good player for Gtown and a young man who represented himself well during his time @ Gtown...
There's no need to continue bashing him in my view...

One thing is for sure....Wahab has more upside than both and knows what to do with the ball when he has it down low. Q really showed me a lot tonight. If he got a step on his defender, he was looking to tear the rim down every chance he got. A far cry from our current and most recent former starting centers. It's not the smoothest shooting motion, but he continues to get the job done at the line. I just hope his mechanics don't get out of whack at some point. He's already getting better at it, but if he can continue to keep the silly fouls down and get stronger without sacrificing speed, I think he's got the highest potential of any big we've had since Greg. I truly believe that.

I appreciate everything Jessie gave to the program. He was a very good player, and the fact that he wasn’t perfect shouldn’t be dredged up again and again.
Yurt is similarly effective, but imperfect. He has a silky smooth stroke and that’ll make him money somewhere ... but there’s a difference between a midrange pull up and a midrange fade-away. The fadeaway is a lower percentage shot for Yurt and he’ll never get a call, but he keeps going to it. Over, and over again. I think limiting the fade-away could be a 4-6 point swing in games. Do that, and then we can talk about kicking it out and reposting...

I thought the postgame reply by Ewing that he wants to see more from Q on the defensive end was curious. Hard to claim the defense was vastly better last night with the starter in there.

Omer’s just a “kid”. Or does that shield only apply to Akinjo or hack mediocre snot nosed Hoya student reporters with a lacrosse background like Ben Gaver and Matthew Sacks.

The only criticism I had of Q last night was defensive rebounding. He got pushed around on that end a bit when we were trying to get stops. I imagine after an offseason in the gym that won't be a problem. I don't love the premise of this thread. I get the frustration. I'm at the point where the defensive issues are systematic as opposed to one individual. And Yurt7 clearly established position at the rim on offense multiple times, he just missed a ton of easy shots. I don't have that as soft but it was disappointing for sure

Yurt and it ain't even close...Jesse was lazy and saved all of his energy for O....Yurt works on both ends but seems to hate contact....Yurt is like me when it comes to being physical but I'm 6ft and 44yrs old....lol

No need to bash the guys...
Yurt is flawed. I don’t see his chances in the nba, anyone with size can shut him down. He is a nice college player and can def play professionally if he’d like. I just don’t think that will be in nba
