Watched some game films on Beard. He has a good blend of skills (ball handling, passing shooting and athleticism). He does take a lot of midrange and long 2’s and not that many threes. His shooting mechanics look solid though so I don’t see any reason why he can’t take and hit more threes.

Good work, he went 13 spots up in pg position rankings. Let's hope we get a break and Tyler's impact is closer to his ranking from last year. The new highlights show much more above the rim play and a nice shot. Makes me wonder if he had an unreported injury of some kind.

We don't need Akinjo type production from our 2pgs next year...we just need strong ball handling and being a threat either off the bounce or from 3....the O will go through Mac and Q....hopefully Morko returns to his norm....

Lol The rankings really don't matter to me, I'm just happy he’s been playing that good this season and with confidence to the point the HS recruit sites took notice.

Yeah if that's the offense, it's very limited. This team would need someone else who can create for themselves. It would be this year with an offensive downgrade based on Omer's ability to shoot a jumper over Q's. You need someone else who can create and score in that case, that offense is too limited.

This clip is a must-watch. I'm not big into giving kids positions but this kid sees the floor very well and looks to have a nice handle... The pass in transition @ the 4:45 mark was very very pretty, same for the pass made on the next possession as well... The pass @ the 7:15 mark was another good one but the bucket on the break at the 18:50 mark was the highlight for me, even the announcers were impressed with the run-out... In my view, Beard is a guard who has a nice ceiling for growth...

Very true, we don't need the freshman PG's to consistently produce big scoring numbers, but if the Hoyas are going to be a better team next year they will need some additional scoring from somewhere. If Mac is the only consistent scoring threat then other teams will game plan against him and make it really difficult for him to get scoring opportunities. I think Q will provide a decent inside scoring option, but not as prolific as Yurt. That really leaves Jamorko or Blair (or someone not on the roster yet) to fill in that gap as a consistent scoring threat. They really need at least one more player who can consistently make open shots (hopefully from the 3 point line) and another wing player who can attack the basket and create a shot for himself at times. Not sure if that is going to be a freshman, grad transfer or someone else, but adding a few guys who can give you 8-12 points on a good night is going to be vital.

Not trying to hijack Tyler's thread but team in the BE not named Nova has a consistent 3rd option? Each night we'll need a 3rd player but it doesn't have to be the same player....what we need is someone that consistently take Mac off the ball and on occasion make plays for his teammates...

No what we need are real #1 and #2 options and not forcing guys who should be complimentary players into leading roles.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I was hoping for a grad transfer PG to complement Harris. If there's a position where experience and stability matters more than raw talent, it's probably at PG. I could be totally off on talent evaluation here and underestimating Harris or Beard or both, but two freshmen PGs handling the ball is generally not a formula for immediate success. It seems like ceding contention for an NCAA bid next year to me. Exactly. If you're ok with Beard, Harris, AND a grad transfer PG, I think that's fine but you're also limiting your scholarship options because we only have Sibley and Pickett to man the 3/4 spot. Probably need two guys there as well not to mention you will want to start developing a SG for future Sibley and Picket can play the 3/4, but Wilson should also be helpful at the 4. Beard looks strong, can run the point and is physically ready. Decent shot and great vision. I say welcome, glad to have you aboard

Great pick up bY the Hoyas. The young man has a good handle, not afraid to go to the hoop and is willing to share the ball. Two potential pg’s to replace Moseley and Allen. Now for that power forward.
