Article from 247: "I loved the family vibe they gave off," Beard said. "They made me feel at home. It’s hard to say no to an NBA legend." Just noticed this from the article: "Beard is scheduled to visit Georgetown next Tuesday." Looks like he and Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe will be on official visits at the same time.

Well that works out very well for us from a scheduling/timing perspective. Hopefully, we can show him that this is the right place for him to spend the next 4 years.

Would be tremendous if Beard becomes an advocate and we're able to lock up MAM on that trip. It's wishful thinking but his most recent comments on Georgetown sounded pretty positive even relative to his other options, and it isn't inconceivable that he could pull the trigger in February. If we're able to lock him in next month I think we could comfortably move on from 2020 high school recruiting (with a 2 guard + 2 forward class, plus a RS freshman center) and shift our focus completely onto grad transfers, traditional transfers and 2021/2022 kids.

I like the ending but I want to see him don that Blue and Gray, photo-shoot. They usually do photoshoots when recruits are on their official visit, so we'll probably see some photos of him in a Georgetown uniform next week.

“Playing for a legend, first off, you simply cannot go wrong. The coaches loved me from the beginning and they kept it real with me. They can help get me to the next level," Beard stated. "The fan base really caught me off guard, too, because they made me feel a part of something before stepping foot onto campus.” If you look at the comments on his tweet from yesterday, of the 34 comments I'm pretty sure 33 are Georgetown fans rooting for him to commit. Typically Georgetown fans get drowned out against bigger programs like UNC and Michigan on social media, but in this instance Georgetown fans definitely embraced him early and often. I'll take credit for blowing up his 3 instagram posts. Welcome to the Hilltop Tyler! Excited to see him suit up next year.

Glad he picked the Hoyas. Here’s hoping he has the ability to jump in right away. Do we know who the main recruiter was here?

Really like what Beard brings to the table. Love getting PGs from major programs like this who know what it is like to run a team. Beard and Harris is a great duo to get in the same class! I expect them to get plenty of PT!

It's possible that Orr watched him play on 1/19 at the Hoophall Classic since he was at he tournament on 1/18, but I'm not sure. Then I'm assuming Ewing watched him play on 1/25 against Vashon in St. Louis since he was in Minnesota on 1/24.

Beilein needed to have all of his assistants sign off on players when he was at Michigan... As for Beard I really like the pickup, he looks to be an all-round ballplayer who can become a nice contributor down the line...

If we did that they had better find a way to score upwards of 80 every night. Jason while an outstanding scorer with an average handle was perhaps the weakest on ball defender to ever play on a regular basis in backcourt for the Hoyas. To me his recruiting by 3 stands has a key point in the demise of his program from an extremely strong defense towards well we know what the last several years has been about. Jason was an outstanding player for us. Also HS Player of Yr in DMV and a Top 60 player. Love for Tyler to be as good. Welcome to the Hilltop Tyler! Welcome Tyler hope you have a great career on the Hilltop starting day one Jason has a great shot and after three years turned into a decent ball handler. I still cringe on the high right hand dribble he brought his freshman year and the one hand pass.. my first thoughts once he began to get some time in late Dec of his freshman year was who the heck were his high school and AAU coaches who never schooled him in basic defensive principles .How many times did teams go out there way to isolate him. I’ll give him credit though by the time the BE season rolled around his senior year he vastly improved his defensive game but if I recall correctly his shot went to hell. Don’t mean to be so critical he was great teammate and represented the school and himself at the highest level I have a hard time putting him on a pedestal as many here do.

I would vote for Austin "El Torero" Freeman as the weakest I've ever seen in a Hoya uniform.

I wasn't going to respond as I felt that I had derailed the thread enough but it's interesting how we became one of the better defensive teams in the country when Freeman and Wright graduated and Clark was a senior. Hell, his senior year he was our leading scorer and leader on a team that finished 4th in conference and had a #3 seed in the tourney. Given the recent and current roster of guards, I can't imagine trying to nitpick or devalue a guard that never shot below 47.5% from the field, was super efficient as a freshman and improved his scoring average every year.

I question the wisdom of two freshman point guards going into your report card 4th year.
