Think it's probably because they have Marquette on Wednesday though, right? If they're smart they sent an assistant to the Paul IV game though I agree. Right, I’m guessing like last year they are staying in Chicago between the two games. You know, that's something I hadn't thought about and I'd love an answer from some of the more knowledgeable on the board. We all know that there are a set number of recruiting assistants but who in the staff can actually travel with the team? Trainer? DOBO? Assist DOBO?

The head medical trainer and the special assistant (and all the student managers) are on the bench for every game. For away games you sometimes see the head strength trainer, the DOBO, the AD, the basketball alumni relations coordinator, the SID, or others sitting behind the bench.

The Staff really puts in work. Kudos to them and I hope we land Walton.

The staff must be getting a positive enough response from Walton to keep pursuing him this hard. I had thought Walton was a long shot to become a Hoya, but at this point in the recruiting cycle for class of '20 guys, you have to think they are only spending time on guys they think they have a legit chance to get. I would hate out lose out on another recruit who was likely to commit to the Hoyas because they are chasing Walton so hard. I trust the staff knows the recruiting game much better than anyone on this board so I hope it works out for them.

So much for being at Paul VI/DeMatha. Feel like Patrick needs to pull an upset in one of these. My gut has told me we didn't stand much chance on Walton, and spending time pursuing him at the expense of more attainable local kids seems like a bad idea. But maybe they know something I don't. I hear ya, there does appear to be some dice rolling here. At least with local kids like Murray, Ewing can get in a car and make a visit relatively easily. Not so the case with Walton, and so perhaps he feels this is the best opportunity right now to make a splash. Creighton is on a roll this season, so lots of momentum. And you have to believe McDermott is impressive in-person selling vision.

Constant second guessing of coach! Anyone on here qualified to successfully do his job and have the outcomes you believe he should have? Just curious.

I am all for Pat, but you are looking at 3 years of no NCAAs and 8th place in the league. What metrics do you use to evaluate a coach? Also, 6 transfers during this period.

This is a recent Hopkins game filmed from the opponent's perspective. Walton had 38 in the loss. His first bucket comes at the 3:30 mark. He is a shooter. Several 3s under pressure.

Like the effort from the staff but need to get this kid on campus to have any realistic shot I’d imagine

But, just in case you haven't noticed, transfer is the new standard for players in today's college basketball. And it is going to increase.

Come on Bigs there are lots of measures to evaluate coaches. Winning becomes the bottom line, but along with that comes style of play, the skill of the players, the teamwork, etc. I can tell you I hated watching ""the four corner" offense. I hated the Princeton offense. I like real urban basketball, hard nosed, fast breaking offense. And tough defense. Coach despite his efforts has not put together a sustained, highly skilled team. In my opinion we had the makings of one in the beginning. Bit then the team self imploded and we had desperate exciting and frustrated ball. Everything will get better....eventually. If for any reason we had to change coaches immediately, I don't believe players would be knocking on our door to come here never mind who the coach was.

Walton is a very talented offensive player and an absolute knock down shooter. I would not classify him as a junk yard dog on the defensive end. If the staff is lucky enough to land him, he is going to have to play with more effort on the defensive end or Coach Ewing might have a quick hook on him.
