Another total team effort, to honor the 2019 Division 1 National Mens Soccer Champions who will be in attendance and fully embodied that concept, would be the best place to start.

Keep playing for each other. Have to cut down on the sloppy/careless turnovers from last night, and also pound the boards. And Yurt did a better job on quick decisions to shoot or to pass out, has to keep that up.

another must win. I hate Marquette. WoJo isn't a good coach. Akinjo waiving off Ewing cost us the game last year. Let's make it two in a year preferably with healthy foul free guards.

Keep turnovers to a minimum and hope Howard does not go over for a huge night. Marquette is going to score so you need to make sure you get a decent shot on pretty much every possession. It is almost impossible to shut Howard down, but make him work hard and earn everything. You have to deny him the ball so he has to work hard to just catch it and then never leave him to help. He is going to get 20 anyways, just don't let him get 35-40. This might be a great challenge for Allen, who I think is a little quicker than Jagan and still has the length to bother Howard's shots. Anim is a good player, but I think Jagan should be able to do a really good job slowing him down. This would be a huge win for the Hoyas.

I haven't dug all the way in yet on Marquette but I imagine it's more likely that Mosely starts on McEwen and Mac has to guard Anim. Agree this is a big Terrell Allen game, because I don't think it will be easy to have Mosely guard Howard for too long because we'd give up too much size to McEwen in process.

Seeing that Mosely covered Powell, Ill be surprised if he doesn't take Howard... If McEwen starts to go off you can make adjustments but I'd rather he beat Gtown instead of Howard...

Koby McEwen is the key to this Marquette team. Unless Howard goes absolutely crazy, this Marquette team needs Koby McEwen to step up. If McEwen steps up, this Marquette team is much better than if he doesn't step up. Also, I think this game is more of a "must-win" so to speak than it may get credit for because I think the Xavier game is a horrible spot game. However, I think this Marquette team is horribly overrated and very beatable. If the Hoyas are at full strength, I think this game is very winnable. You can't sleep on any Big East team and I think this game is huge.

Follow last year's away game plan re: Howard. This year we have a better defender in Allen to throw at Howard than what we had last year in Akinjo. The Creighton game was a good set up game for the MU game.

I think it could work, but you also have to give him multiple looks regardless. Mosely, Allen and maybe even someone like Jamorko should guard Howard. Blair and Mac even for a small amount of time just to throw him off. And you have to make him defend. That's the best defense against him. Attack him. Make him defend and don't let him rest on that end. Marquette will try to hide him on that end, probably putting him on Mosely. Mosely should attack him and make sure that Howard can't just rest. Howard is getting at least 20. That's pretty much a guarantee. How he gets it matters a lot. But with this team, Koby McEwen is the key in my opinion. Unless Howard puts up 40, keeping McEwen under 15 is huge. Not letting him get going and slowing down the second scoring option is huge against this Marquette team. In Marquette's two Big East wins, McEwen averages 16ppg. In their losses, he averages 4.3PPG. He's the key to getting this team going. Slow him down and it really should help. The Hoyas having Allen and Mosely as two very talented perimeter defenders should really help this game. Omer may be neutralized in a sense, as John is a quality rim protector. Keeping him out of the paint would be gigantic in this one. Letting Omer stay in the high post/on the perimeter would be massive in opening up driving lanes. I think both teams match up pretty well defensively against each other, except in two areas. Markus Howard and whoever on their team has to guard Jamorko Pickett. I expect Brendan Bailey to get that assignment, and he's been very beatable. Damien Jefferson put up 17 against him. That matchup is weak. Players have been efficient against him in Marquette's losses. In wins, not so much. No need to hard hedge in this one. Either go all out for the double, or soft hedge to where it's difficult for him to pull up right on the line, but he's able to 5-7 feet behind it. You have to live with that, unless he's going crazy.

Never could understand odds - does this mean if we take the Hoyas we give up 3.5 pts or get the Hoyas + 3,5 points?

If anyone is at the game today and can pick up one of the Commemorative Soccer T shirts for Harry, I would be happy to reimburse and cover shipping.
Please message me if you can.
Thanks.
