Hmm, Akinjo was double recruited over? Brown seems solid (other than the PowerPoint comment) and the other guy quite good. Add to this a program likely ending up in probation. I feel for a guy cursed like that. Akinjo bailed on his team mid-season because he is selfish and immature. He deserves whatever he gets at Arizona. If he ends up doing well, that's ok too, but I will never feel bad for him. You can make a case for me about feeling sorta bad for LeBlanc. He was involved in a tough situation at Georgetown, probably due in a large part to his actions, yes. Having it get to the point where he felt he had to transfer was probably more due to the resulting circumstances, but I don't really know. Choosing LSU made some sense at least since it is local for him. A wiser choice would have been to avoid the cesspool at LSU but being local probably was a huge inducement for him. So yeah, if they go on probation, have a coaching change and he loses out, I'll have some sympathy. I was being sarcastic about Akinjo. He threw his team under the bus because he wasn't treated like a god, but played poorly and was uncoachable. Ewing is tough, but as we saw last year player grow and develop if they listen and can put into practice what they are hearing. I have no idea what was up with LeBlanc, strong hunch is he wasn't into putting in the work in practice and listening as to why he wasn't starting and playing (also have nothing more than 2nd hand that could be the big reason).

Is Arizona interested in Mac? 🙏 LOL!!! That would be icing. Mac is in a tough spot, not so sure he got good advice from his agent, but the NBA advice is pretty much on target, given his size and other skills or lack (defense). Programs that could help him develop what he needs a lot of work on have freshman from this last year with more skill or incoming players with more skill. I don't doubt Mac can make the transition, but he is going to need a good coach (or coaches) to work on it and learn to close the gaps and see the game differently and run the game differently than he does.

Is Arizona interested in Mac? 🙏 I doubt it. I see Arizona State has reached out.

www.azdesertswarm.com/basketball/2020/5/11/21253891/james-akinjo-arizona-wildcats-basketball-eligible-georgetown-transfer-point-guard-depth-chartJames Akinjo was a valuable asset for the Arizona Wildcats last season even though he spent game days in street clothes.
“Think about him, he played against Nico Mannion and Jemarl Baker every day (in practice),” Arizona coach Sean Miller said in an interview with Brian Jeffries. “And there were days when those guys really battled. I loved James in practice because he came at a time when he was able to make Nico and those guys better and pushed them every day in practice.”
“When we reached out to check on James, in addition to what we already knew, I think we’re getting a guy that’s experienced, that brings a toughness who can play both defense and offense and is just a terrific point guard,” Miller said. “(He’s) experienced, a little bit older, and I believe that we’re getting a point guard who will come into the Pac-12 and really settle in and be a very good player.”
Akinjo is expected to start for Arizona when he is eligible to play. It’s still unclear if that will be at the start of the season or at the end of the fall semester—AKA around December.
And while Akinjo profiles as a lead guard, he could see some time off the ball. Arizona is loaded with guards after adding four-star recruit Kerr Kriisa and Seattle U grad Terrell Brown while returning Baker and Brandon Williams, so it would behoove them to find ways to get all of them involved.
“The other thing I like about James is he doesn’t have to be the one and only point guard on the court,” Miller said. “We could play a number of different combinations. I think this coming year we’ll play a lot of three-guard lineups because James also can play off the ball and score. And that’s something that I think we’re excited to utilize with him as well.

James cannot play off the ball. He needs the rock in his hands at all times. He is not a great shooter from the new distance. He will take it as an affront if someone else is playing PG.

Shouldn’t this be moved too. They are no longer here.

How? Why? For what possible reason?
If anything, I think this means we won't have basketball this year and waivers for 2020 are meaningless.

Seems like they're granting all waivers this year. I think it's more of a sign to them going to the players can transfer 1 time without restrictions model.

How I Akinjo’s eligibility going to work? He should have 2.5 year remaining, but he is starting this fall. I know we all think he will leave before his eligibility is up, but he will have to take tA fall off he if wants to finish up his eligibility and end with his team. Strange situation, maybe even stranger w Covid messing up rules

Does James transfer again? Or does he stick out for NCAAs next year.

How long before Arizona announces that Sean Miller is taking an extended leave of absence while he explores new opportunities in selling real estate?
